Seat hardly reclines at all and was the narrowest ever but it helps that there were so many empty seats so we could spread out. Loved the Oreo cookies.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Newport Beach

These practical tips and hints about airport security procedures will save you a lot of time on your way to Newport Beach:

  • Make sure your travel ID and boarding pass are not difficult to reach. You'll need to show them straightaway.
  • Belts, wallets and mobile phones must be put in a tub for X-raying. If you enter the body scanner with these items, you'll be requested to turn back and remove them.
  • All laptops need to be removed from their protective cases and placed in a tray before X-raying.
  • Deodorant, toothpaste and other toiletry items in cream, liquid or gel form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They must also fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear zip-lock bag.
  • Steel-cap boots and other bulky shoes are most often X-rayed. Think about wearing simple sneakers instead.
  • The list of non-permissible items is forever changing. Check with your airline's website for what is not allowed on board their flights.
