How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Nassau

Your trip to Nassau begins as soon as you've satisfied all the security checks. Here is a list of tips and pointers to help you get through quickly:

  • Make sure you know the location of your boarding pass and passport. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to hand them over.
  • Remove your shoes and belt before approaching the airport security checkpoint. Items such as these are not permitted in the body scanner.
  • Everyday electronics such as tablets, laptops and phones will need to be sent through the X-ray machine separately. Make sure they're within easy reach.
  • When you approach the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to place all creams, gels and liquids in a separate bin for inspection. Make sure they're all stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Give some thought to the type of footwear you want to travel in. Slippers are great because they're easy to step out of when you're at the security checkpoint. Try wearing a pair on your next journey!
  • Pack any multi-tools or other dangerous items inside your checked luggage. Security won't permit such things in carry-on baggage.
