Frequently asked questions
Flights To Cambria
Have you been dreaming of a trip to California's Central Coast? If the wine, food, and breathtaking views weren't enough, you can also enjoy the local art scene, and a castle (or two). Flights to Cambria land in San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP), and are a 37-mile drive northwest along scenic Highway 1. From the moment you smell the ocean air and hear the seabirds, you will know that your vacation has truly begun.
Transportation from SBP
There are a number of ways to get up to Cambria from SBP. Taxi services are available, as are private shuttle companies that will get you settled into one of the many boutique hotels in Cambria. You can take RTA buses from SBP into Cambria, though you should be prepared for multiple transfers. Rental cars are also available at the airport, and will allow you more flexibility to explore Cambria and neighboring San Simeon.
After getting into the city following one of the frequent Cambria flights, you may be tempted to walk along Main Street to visit the folk art galleries and taste the local delicacies. From the olallieberry pie to the steak and wines from nearby Hearst Ranch, you shouldn't hesitate to indulge. Follow Moonstone Drive down to the beach, or just enjoy the relaxing coastal drive. Back in town, take the tour of Nitt Witt Ridge. Created by Arthur Harold Beal as his own answer to Hearst Castle, his castle was created out of reclaimed items and scraps—everything from old televisions to auto parts and plumbing was put to good use. And, of course, if you want to see his inspiration, Hearst Castle itself is just a short drive up Highway 1 in San Simeon.
