I liked that the hotel was in an old building. We had reserved two suites with two queen beds each and only got one suite with two beds. It worked out okay. Each time I went to front desk for check in and out their system was down. So I did not receive any printed receipt and am hoping all my charges are accurate. The clerk was polite and apologetic but I still don’t have a receipt! The blanket for the pull out sofa was much too thin and one pillow was not enough. We did not get back to the room until 1 am after attending a late event so I hated to call that late.

Pleasant Stay, Odd Receipt Rule

Pros: Room was comfortable.
Cons: Rules for issuing receipts.
Location: Downtown Atlanta near Olympic Park.
My room was good. No complaints there. Comfy and clean. However, I'm not happy about one business rule: You will not issue a receipt for a room booked through Travelocity. I don't understand this rule, and it caused me some grief when I submitted my expense report at work. My auditors want to see a hotel receipt; your hotel absolutely would not do that for me even when I pressed the issue with your manager. Why are you so stubborn about this?

Always enjoy a stay at Hampton Inns. Because this hotel is downtown, outside noise is an issue. More soundproofing would make the stay excellent.

Wonderful staff, but noisy room

Staff is wonderful, the place is convenient and welcoming. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. I would suggest that if you want a good nights sleep, that you request a room that isn't an adjoining room. Hotels, for some reason, have lousy sound proofing, and this is no exception. It was made worse by the guest in the room adjoining ours who had their TV on all night, making it difficult to sleep.

HAMPTON INN HAS A GREAT STAFF

Pros: Everything!
Cons: We were satisfied.
Location: It was in the downtown area near the Metro. Don't miss the Peachtree Center food court or the Dolphin show at the Aquarium.
From the moment we walked into the Hampton Inn in Atlanta, Georgia, the Hospitality Chairperson, Dawn,welcomed us with a cordiality unmatched in our experience. She had a table directly across from the reception desk filled with cheese, chips, cookies, lemonade, popcorn in colorful bags and more, arming us up, and, while the food was delicious, her welcome was so genuine and gracious and positive that it was nourishing in itself. We travel frequently and have eaten in many hotels, but the breakfast Sandrael, the excellent chef, served up was the best we've had. What made the difference? I noticed that rather than all the sausages being uniformly cooked, some were well done, some medium. Omelets (my wife's favorite) were made in a variety of styles, some with cheese, some with vegetables, ham cooked perfectly with no fat or gristle. Everything was cooked with this level of care. To my inquiry, April, the tirelessly pleasant server, with a personality so positive she could bottle and sell it, confided, yes, the chef made the meals with a variety to please everyone. I asked where the chef was located so I could thank her in person and Sandrael was right there among us, helping patrons and gaging by their reactions what she would serve up next. Does this sound like gushing? It's not. Everyone who worked at this hotel was eager to help and very pleasant from desk clerks like Shondra to Seth Rolfe the manager, to Annie, a custodian - everyone! Atlanta should be proud.

Great location!

The hotel was right downtown, and we could walk where we needed to go.  Better yet, parking was right next to the hotel, and they let us leave our car there all day after we checked out.  Staff were pleasant--both at the front desk, and the guy who helped us figure out why our t.v. wasn't working.  The room was clean, and the breakfast area was nice and large enough to accomodate all the guests.  Cons--the hotel is in an old building, and the walls are paper-thin.  You could hear everything in the rooms around you.
