Overall all I was impressed by how nice the room was. It is an old hotel that had been restored. Staff was friendly. Not much of a choice to find breakfast. The elevator was very slow to close and you couldn't take the stairs because of the emergency exit. I loved that you could walk and feel safe ...
I arrived early, real early, and was allowed to check in. They were expecting me. They always wanted to be of service. The breakfast was remarkable. It was very close to all I wanted t ok do or transportation to get there. I want to go back later in the year and most likely over the New Year holiday ...
This place was really neat for a one night stay. Keep in mind it was built in 1928 so there is no elevator and the rooms are smallish. The staff is very nice though and their sister hotel a block away does a very elegant continental breakfast. I would not recommend it for young children however.
I checked in late-ish and everything went fine. Woke up about 8 hours later to find that the shower was broken. Reported it, was told to pull really hard so it would turn (it turned freely already) then to ask later - only to discover a queue for the desk, manned by the same guy who had checked me ...
The room was great. Had a nice huge comfortable bed. The only issue was the eggs at breakfast made my mother sick and she was vomiting the rest of the day. Not an easy task to hide on a plane home.
Only down side was that the hot tub wasn't very hot and the bubbles didn't work. Also, the fridge for breakfast wasn't fully working so the milk was warm. Other than that, the room was VERY nice. Great hotel for the price. Would certainly stay there again.
