The views from the living room and hot tub are absolutely stunning. We loved the woodburning fireplace and open concept layout. Of course, we loved the hot tub too. We’ll definitely be looking to stay again!

Great ski trip location

We came to Tahoe for a family ski trip to Palisades. The location and set up of the house was perfect for the trip. Close enough to everything in town as well as a nice drive to heavenly area. The house was equipped with everything we could’ve needed.

Great House

Great house that is very spacious and well maintained. Hot tub was in perfect condition and clean. Very nice to have 5 full bedrooms with individual bathrooms. FYI, the rental group does not provide shampoo/conditioner/body wash in any of the bathrooms - which was pretty frustrating for a house of this size and price, especially since we were not aware of this ahead of time. Overall great place to stay.

Great views details lacking

Our stay offered stunning views and spacious accommodations, but a mixed bag of experiences left us with varied impressions. The place boasted overall cleanliness, yet an arachnid presence—three spiders on the first day and two more in the following days—in one room and a restroom added an unexpected twist. Wouldnt be suprised if there were more. Didnt mention to my friends as I didnt want scare them. One notable downside was the lack of insulation, rendering the space virtually soundproof-less. Conversations from the first floor resonated effortlessly to the second floor. The beds were disappointingly uncomfortable, contributing to a less-than-restful night's sleep. The couch, showing signs of age and dirt, even had a bug encounter on the first night. In the kitchen, some cookware exhibited signs of rust, and the dishwasher didn't convey the highest standards of cleanliness. However, the redeeming feature was the hot tub, which proved to be a delightful addition that our group thoroughly enjoyed. The practical amenities fell a little short. Insufficient supplies of paper towels(2 rolls) and toilet paper (2 in each restroom for 5 days) presented an inconvenience, requiring us to purchase more. Despite the challenges, we managed to have a good time, thanks in part to the enjoyable hot tub experience. Nonetheless, considering the various issues encountered, we are unlikely to choose this particular VRBO for future stays.

Great time at this home

We had a family of 12 with ages from 7 months to 72 years old. Everyone had a comfortable room and space to be together but also have quiet time when needed. It was a short drive down to the private beach area. I believe the access passes get in a total of 12 now (six for each pass) the beach wasn’t user friendly for our group because it is very small due to high water levels and it’s all pebble rock. Not jagged or sharp, but you needed sturdy water shoes for it to not hurt your feet. Sunny side cafe was great for a nice dinner and drinks. Positives: every room had its own bathroom. The game room had fun games that we enjoyed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 12 several times. Nicely laid out and well stocked. The deck was great. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and we used the grill and it was perfect. There are a few different views if the lake all from the deck that are just gorgeous. Negatives: as mentioned the beach situation all over Tahoe is a little tricky for big groups. There weee a few things that needed repair but I communicated it to the host and they responded that they’d address them immediately for the next renter so probably all fixed by now. We found the pillows to be a little uncomfortable. Maybe just older pillows or maybe we are just babies 😂. Last thing is similar to most vrbo’s. The actual house looks a little more worn than the pics. I suppose to be expected because it’s not uncommon. Overall, trip was amazing

Beautiful views and space for everyone

We were pleasantly surprised at every turn with the house, the views, and the neighborhood. Checking in and checking out were so smooth. There's more than enough room with two living areas and a spacious deck. I like the way that the bedrooms are split on 3 different levels, so my senior parents didn't have to go up and down stairs to get to their rooms. Definitely take advantage of the Tahoe Park access. It's a lovely beach.

Basic house in great location

The house is in a great location with a gorgeous view to lake Tahoe and while quiet still close to Tahoe city. Hot tub and fire place are certainly highlights. The amenities were a bit basic, for instance, there are no extra blankets provided (which is a bit disappointing for a house in the snowy mountains), the house was generally clean but with some dusty spots and furniture is definitely dated. You have to wash the towels provided for the hot tub yourself (you will be charged extra otherwise) and also dispose of your own trash. The rental company's way of communication is quite intense and one feels a bit like an inconvenience rather than as guest that paid a pretty penny to stay here. For instance, when the trash can was full, we had to call the rental company to inform them and discuss alternative form of disposal. The maintenance personnel showed up 45 minutes before the 11am check out time and there is the constant mentioning of charges for all kinds of things in all of the rental company's communication. Overall the house is great and we enjoyed the stay but expected a bit more comfort when for the price we paid for a 37 hour stay (we stayed 2 nights with a 4pm check in time and a 11am check out time).

Great place for multiple families

The property was great - spacious and comfortable. Great location, clean, well stocked. Loved the hot tub. Only complaints were around TV/tech which was impossible to figure out and we needed the property manager (who was not easy to get onsite in a timely manner) to come fix the issues. Also house needs more blankets and fire making supplies (wood was wet, no paper). Highly recommend.

Although the property is a bit dated (seashell sinks in bathroom) it has a character that grows on you. Plenty of private sleeping areas, quiet neighborhood with miles of hiking trail just up the road, and view of the lake. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Beautiful Property!

I rented this home for a ski weekend in March and couldn't have been happier! The home was perfect for our ski crew and having 5bed / bathrooms afforded our group the space we needed for our group of 8. The home itself was clean and organized and the check-in / check-out process was seamless. The views of Lake Tahoe are stunning - although we spent most of our time on the slopes, waking up to the lake views and enjoying them in the hot tub was a major perk! Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Great place to gather the whole family

The house is perfect for hosting multiple families or large families for a mountain escape. Everything is clean and well maintained. Our only problem is there are a few safety concerns. The power ended up going out and there were no flashlights, candles or firewood available for emergency light. There were also no extra blankets for warmth, which was a problem on a cold winter night around hour 5 without power. We could not find a basic first aid kit and there was a thin layer of ice over the entire garage that made it treacherous to pace with no tools for breaking up the ice. There were no viable phone numbers for emergency maintenance or support as well. As long as there are no emergencies and/or visitors bring all the necessary tools it's a perfect house.

Big house with great lake views from the hot tub

With a bathroom associated with each of the five bedrooms, this was a perfect house for our multi-family Christmas gathering. The big open family room was the center of everything. Nice kitchen made preparing a big turkey dinner easy. The relatively flat driveway with a two car garage (though pretty tight for two SUVs) was a nice plus. We've stayed in other Big Pine rentals with very steep driveways that were tough with any snow. The only small down side...due to the high open ceilings and wood panelling, sounds travel too well to the upstairs bedrooms, so even fairly quite conversations could be heard while the bedroom door was closed. Overall, a great house for a large group.

We had a fantastic time at Big Pine this August. The home perfectly accommodates adults and children, with all the bedrooms fairly even in terms of sleeping arrangements and space. We enjoyed waking up each morning to coffee on the deck with views of the lake and beautiful scenery.
