The Whitehall Hotel, BW Premier Collection
"The Whitehall Hotel is a beautiful older historic hotel, ideally situated in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood on a quiet street just off the throngs on Michigan Avenue. It is an outstanding value for this area. If you prefer a sparkly, modern, hip hotel experience then this may not be your place, but for those who appreciate Century old architecture, beautiful inlay tile, and well-curated historic artwork and furniture the Whitehall is a great choice. Our corner room (409) had windows on two sides, providing a plenty of light and ample space. Bed quality was high end quality, on the firmer supportive side but still very comfortable and inviting. Very clean throughout the hotel, some things showed wear but were not run down. Workout room was small but had the essentials. All the staff we interacted with were polite and professional. There is a Paris Baguette attached which serves great pastries and sandwiches. We did not eat at Mei's, the hotel's primary restaurant, which also serves breakfast and other meals. About 0.3 miles from the Red Line and walking distance to most downtown sites. Highly recommended, this will be at the top of my list for a reasonably priced Chicago hotel in a great location."
