Lumberjack Lookout is the perfect base camp for your next adventure in the Smokies. Less than 3 miles to downtown Gatlinburg, 4 miles to the national park and 6 miles to Pigeon Forge. And we welcome dogs with advance approval, so the whole family can enjoy vacation together!

This 2-story cabin entry is on the first level where you'll find a game room with sleeper sofa, king bedroom, full bath with walk-in shower and stacked washer/dryer. The king bedroom also has a desk and chair, just in case someone needs to do a little email checking or homework (but we sure hope not!)

When you walk up stairs, the first thing you'll notice is the soaring wood ceiling and beams. It's a very spacious setting for dining, watching TV or just playing a board game.

The kitchen offers updated stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space for meal prep. You'll find nice quality cookware, bakeware, dishes and silverware. See the photo of the huge selection of hard anodized cookware!

The second king bedroom is on this level of the house with an attached full bath (tub/shower combo). Like the entry level's bedroom, the mattress is identical and super comfortable for a great night's rest (new May 2022). Both bedrooms have a large flat screen TV, too.

We would love to host your stay at Lumberjack Lookout. If you wish to bring your dog, please request approval of your pet *before* booking. Here are the items we'll need:

Agree to pick up & dispose of waste properly

Pet stays are $125 per dog. The VRBO listing says dogs must be under 50 lbs but we will make an exception for well-mannered larger dogs.

Wonderful cabin, clean, spotless, well appointed, conveniently located to both Gatlinburg strip and Pigeon Forge. I would definitely recommend choosing this rental for a vacation stay.

4 adults and 2 dogs stayed for 3 days in August. Plenty of room and well stocked with everything. Nice to have a bedroom and bathroom downstairs and one upstairs. Very quiet, could not hear others at all. Spent time at the pool and it was very nice. The pool table made for a fun night as well. Very close to Gatlinburg, maybe 10 minutes to get there. If traveling with pets please be aware there is no yard here for potty breaks as the cabin is all mountainside. A bear and her cubs frequented the area around us so you need to be aware of car and leaving things out! You will have steep terrain navigating to and from the property. This is the real deal when says mountain cabin! Cabin was clean. My only criticism would be the ceiling fans and chandelier need a good dusting. Jen from the rental company was awesome. Always answered my questions, I appreciated her professionalism!

Amenities Galore!

Had a great two day stay. The two story cabin has everything you're looking for including black bears..! All the amenities you could ask for and then some. I really appreciated the quiet nature of the neighborhood and the wonderful deck to enjoy coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. Also, Jen is the best host, super responsive on anything!

Amazing Mountain Getaway!

(5/5)This cabin was everything we hoped for—peaceful, scenic, and full of adventure! The location is truly special, tucked away in the mountains with incredible views and a real sense of seclusion. We had several bear sightings during our stay, which made it feel like a true wilderness experience. The host's communication was outstanding—clear, timely, and super helpful. We felt well-prepared and supported throughout our stay. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well-stocked for a comfortable escape. Highly recommend if you're looking for nature, privacy, and great hospitality.

Great location!

The location of the cabin was great and as advertised! Jen our host is absolutely amazing with communication! If you are looking for more secluded area this may not be the area for you. It’s close to everything but has some neighbors close by and depending on who is there staying it could be a chance of after hour noise level. When we contacted Jen she was prompt with helping us to resolve the issue.

Lovely vacation home!

We definitely recommend this property In Black Bear Falls resort! It’s convenient to everything yet. You feel like you’re in your own little dream cabin! Jenn was incredibly helpful through out the entire process, which is always a huge plus when you’re traveling with your family.

Nice cabin! Great communication. VERY COSTLY TRIP

Let me start out by saying Jen was amazing. Great communication, no problems getting into our cabin. The cabin was beautiful. It had most everything we needed. A few things- there were no cleaning supplies, & no detergent for laundry (which we were told there would be). The pool table was non-functional. The cue sticks were broken (all but 1) and the pool table was in bad shape. Our refridgerator stopped working our 3rd day there (we were only there 4 days), this would not have been a problem if it wasnt for Thanksgiving. We came to see the Turkey Bowl & was hosting a large dinner after the event. We ended up throwing out around $600 worth of food. Apparentally the fridge quit the day before & we did not realize it until the next day. We were told maintance would not come out because it was a new fridge. They did refund us $150, we ended up buying 3 small coolors just to put drinks in and ate out. However there was many others coming to eat which did not work out at all. We lost so much money on this trip. The hot tub was great.

Great cabin

We’ve stayed in this community before and absolutely love it. It was the first time in this cabin (Lumberjack Lookout). It is now our favorite cabin. Nice lay out. Not cluttered. We stayed 8 nights to visit the National Park for fall colors. We’ve rebooked for future visits.

Guaranteed Bear Sighting!

So I made this reservation trying to save my family from a direct hit from hurricane Milton. First, let me tell you about Jennifer the property manager. She made everything so smooth and simple. She literally had a back up plan for everything. We had an issue at check in. She had a plan A,B,C. If Jennifer isn't the CEO she should be. She should be in charge of major decision making. About the cabin, it was very beautiful. We've stayed in many cabins and this one was very warm and had a cozy family feel to it. We had everything we needed. the best part was the back porch. My wife and I were just enjoying the view when a giant black bear walked by. It was about 4 feet from us. I could actually reach out and touch the bear, that's how close. We ran inside bc it startled us. We were kinda upset when we realized how much the bear didn't care about us. We wished we just stayed on the porch and just watch. The second day we sat all day enjoying the cool air. Three black bears came by 8am, 2pm and 6pm to check our trash. too bad it was locked up. They are obviously on some type of schedule. So If your looking for some awesome wildlife activity without any worries bc Jennifer has your back. Then this is definitely the cabin for you and yours. Thank you for everything Jen.

Mountain Getaway
