Location at The Rocks was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Staff was pleasant. I checked on after hours which worked out quite well. Be aware that baths are community-style so will be shared with other room(s). One afternoon we returned to find the cleaning staff (that emptied our trash and made beds) had not properly latched our door. Nothing was missing or taken; it was just an unfortunate mistake.

We booked a room for three nights here before a cruise.after checking the reviews on line.we upgraded to a larger room with a kitchenette. The price was $386 per night. I expected a nice room. We were given room #13, a separate room in another lane. The room was filthy. Screens and blinds you could not even touch, mold in the shower and a fan that had a half inch of dirt caked on it. It was advertised with air con. It was a portable unit that cooled only the lower floor. The sleeping area upstairs was sweltering in the Sydney heat. The patio area was a mess with a table you would not even want to sit at. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the furnishings were old and worn. I thought I was in the wrong place. I reread the reviews again, this time I paid attention to the bad ones. They were spot on and the owner had replied to them giving excuses. Obviously they never took criticism to heart. Or their standards were very low. The main building was quaint and the breakfast was OK. It was in a historic district, only a block away from activities. Overall a great location but filthy. I would never recommend anyone to stay here at any price. To the owners. Open your eyes. If you cannot see it, ask for an outside opinion. Brace yourself

Pros: I loved the location, and the historic ambiance.
Location: The location was perfect and it was convenient to get to everything.
