In the Heart of Downtown!

The rooms are lovely, the lobby beautiful, location is great, BUT....this hotel is located right across the street from a night club and on Friday and Saturday night the music is very loud until 1:30 in the morning.  Wish I had known, I would have stayed elsewhere.  If you stay on Friday or Saturday and not a partier, bring your own earplugs as they don't have any! Aside from that, this property is really great! Check-in staff is wonderful.

Awesome experience!

Great location, good customer service, lovely rooms. I stayed in the "Studio" which included one king bed and a pull-out sofa bed. It even had a kitchenette with a stove top, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (large size), and kitchen supplies! We were amazed with all the amenities this hotel had to offer. I will definitely stay here again!

Great for an out-of-towner!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: only 1 trash can (behind the commode) in the suite
This hotel was a great selection and one I would make again! Staff were very friendly and helpful, not to mention knowledable. This was a perfect hotel as it was in close proximity to the Capitol building and plenty of eating establishments. My room was very clean and well organized and I appreciated having a pull-out bed in the front part of the suite for my son. Nothing beats creature comforts like having two televisions in both rooms, plenty of in-room coffee, a microwave for my late night leftovers, and a totally comfortable bed to collapse in! Benjamin and chef Daniel further made my day by offering to prepare an "off the menu" chocolate treat for me, just when I wanted that comfort food and couldn't find it at a local restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay there!

it was an ok hotel

Pros: Free breakfast
My room was a total disaster. The bathrom is clogged so I have to move to another room at 3am. the ice maker is not working and when I told this to the front desk they ask me to come down and get some ice. the living room table is all loose so i have to report it to the front desk and they send someone to fix it.

Romantic Getaway.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
My husband and enjoyed this hotel very much. Our room was amazing. The staff was great and friendly and this was a wonderful place to spend some "alone time" together. We will definitely stay here again.

After 3 years, a shocking lack of customercare.

Being locals my wife and I have enjoyed several overnight midtown getaways at the RI, however I was shocked to experience utterly rude treatment from the young bartender in the coctail lounge on our wedding anniversary last Jan.1,2010. After waiting for 10 minutes or so and not seeing a server the bartender looked up from his conversation to shout to us (we were sitting at a table 12 to 15 feet away) "What would we like?" I asked what bourbons were available and he motioned silently to the shelf behind him which I couldn't see from my seat. Rather than him coming to take our order I had to get up and walk over to him. When I began to explain to him that his arm gesture was unprofessional, he began to launch into a barrage of flippant and confrontational defensiveness. After complaining to the night shift manager I was given a comment card and referred to the general manager. A week or so later I spoke to the GM who apologized but refused to say what discipline if any the bartender would receive. She said she wanted us to return and would send us a complimentary stay and meal in their lounge. After a month I contacted her again and she expressed ignorance as to why we hadn't received anything. I've left messages on corporate voice mails but to no avail. Jan. 1, 2011 will make a year and we still haven't received anything. It's not an issue of a free room . I was just left with the feeling of being just another customer and that nobody cared if we returned or not. And that' s too bad because we really looked forward to our weekend/birthday/anniversary getaways at "our spot". Now we stay at the Citizen.

It's a winner

Great location; fabulous staff, friendly and helpful; clean, attractive room; great bed; free internet in the lobby; good breakfast. Great value for price. You can pay more for more extras at other places but, honestly, what more could you need or want?

Beautiful Surprise

My family stayed here while my father had surgery at Sutter Memorial. The staff, room and hotel was excellent. We all wished we could have stayed here under better circumstances. The only problem we had was that the elevator was broken in the parking garage, however, after the first day we were told we could park in any available spot (previously we were told hotel guests had to park in rows 5 on. Service and our rooms were impeccable.

Excellent Hotel

Our recent stay at the Residence Inn was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the suite was one of the best that I've ever stayed in. They featured granite counters, modern decor, a full kitchen, and most important to me, everything was extremely clean. I will absolutely stay there again. Loved it!!

This hotel isn't open yet, went for a site tour and it's show rooms are beautiful. Sales staff was very friendly. Great location to restaurants and the Capitol. Can't wait for it to open this May.
