It was ok, won't go back though. You get what you pay for! There were too many misses. Firstly, check in took too long. 45 mins with only 1 person working at the counter. We paid $750 CAD ($505 USD) to upgrade to 1 bedroom suite for 5 nights since it has 2 full washrooms. On the website it clearly states the 1 bedroom comes with platinum level. But they demanded additional $700 for that which would be well over $1400 CAD to get the platinum level. This was so disappointing. When I asked why we aren't getting the platinum as stated on the website.. they said it's if u had booked 1 bedroom directly on the website you would get platinum but because it's an upgrade we can't offer it. Thats just unbelievable! I stated this should have been written on the website and he said "yah so sorry". so we paid for the upgrade but didn't get the platinum. There were no welcome drinks during check in either. Roberto at the front desk did not give any info at all. No resort map, no dining options, no kids club or activities info, nothing at all. I had to ask about all this myself and was then given the resort map and told to talk to concierge for dinner resos. The lady concierge was helpful. We booked 1 dinner reservation before arriving, and 2 after. The bracelets were extremely tight and sharp and uncomfortable. Wifi is $50 usd per person Beach doesnt exist. Service was mixed. Food was above average. Didnt like the open concept bathrooms. Toilet stalls had no exhaust fans.

The staff paid everyone so much respect and could not do enough for us. The food was first class with there always being something available to eat depending on your taste.one downside Aircon was sometimes too cold.all of the pool areas were exceptionally well maintained .the general cleanliness of rooms and gardens were fantastic and you could eat the food off the floor if you so wished booking in was so quick and easy with minimal fuss taken to your room by golf carts which were always available to get you round the complex. Fantastic resort definitely worth visiting at any time.

We had two rooms at this property from Oct 11th-18th. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens & child) stayed in Ventus, and my MIL stayed in the Marina. We’ve been all over Mexico every year for holiday, and was excited to try the ‘El CID’ brand due to the rave reviews. I literally could not find more than one or two negative reviews for this place, but unfortunately im going to have to ruin that streak: Pros: The food! This resort takes pride in their restaurants, and the servers and chefs are well beyond the standard all-inclusive dining experiences. Kobo - Japanese Teppanyaki (5 stars! My favorite) Make sure you go in hungry, because it’s a lot of food!! Trattoria De Gulio - Italian (Our least favourite but was still decent - recommend the calamari) El Alcázar - Mediterranean (5 stars - this was my husband’s favourite. Absolutely delicious & fresh) Aakat - (4 stars- My MIL’s favorite for the roast burger, and I devoured the flank steak on a volcano stone medium rare) the side of corn was no bueno, and at all costs avoid the cheese dessert! It smelt and tasted like mouldy laundry left too long in the washing machine. Corn flake with Tequila was a hit though. French Restaurant - (3 stars - I liked the French onion soup, and salmon was just okay) The breakfast buffet buffet was good, lunch options great, dinner.. no good. Needs structure. Cons: Surprise charges ($200 more than Expedia advised, pushy/rude staff, dirty beach, no entertainment at night, spotty housekeeping)

Food is amazing and lots of varieties. Excellent pools. Lived the bars and drinks at the Wave bar. Staff were very nice and formal. Our room was very clean and taken care of daily. A/C worked great and never had issues. The only downside of this property is it doesnt have ocean view that other places in Cancun has. And mosquitoes were annoying once the sun went down. Bring bug spray. But didnt noticed bugs after 10pm or so.

This resort was well worth the price. The staff worked hard daily, constantly cleaning, sweeping and replenishing to maintain standards. We were spoiled and developed a daily routine encompassing the morning breakfast buffet, Aromas bakery, Delores for lunch, and Alambre or one of the restaurants for dinner. There were plenty of food options offered. We did visit during slow season but there was plenty of space at the multiple beautiful pools. Kids really enjoyed the Ventus where they were able to jump off the rock. Although there was seaweed, it was clean, however, the water was not blue. We did not get in the ocean. There were golf carts that shuttled around the connecting resorts. Only downfall to our stay was we were also woken up every morning by these loud golf carts because we stayed on the first floor. There were daily activities hosted at the pools and an evening show nightly. We will definitely be returning!

Bedroom was very nicely done. Simple clean and comfortable bed. Grounds were beautifully manicured gardens not a square inch of space that wasn't looked after. Italian restaurant was excellent and very nice service everywhere. Just terrible septic smell from time to time but was very off putting otherwise I would have rated this resort a 4.5 ⭐.
