I did not like having my credit card charged an amount for incidentals and held for 7 days. They are making money off that --other facilities remove the hold immediately. Whats the deal

I arrived at 3:20 pm on a Saturday. Check-in was suppose to be 3:00 pm however my room was not ready. The Front Desk attendant was quick to put me in another room as I needed to quickly get dress for a Class Reunion. The air conditioning in the room worked minimally at best. The rooms are dated and not kept up but are clean. I had a king bed and it was quite comfortable. The breakfast was good...the area they have it in is just way too tight! Over all I give this property 2 1/2.

The room was clean however there was crumbling sheetrock on the ceiling and the wall showed signs of a covered up repair. Lastly, I wasn’t told in advance that there would be a $100 hold on my card for incidentals. I was told upon checkin which was too late to consider going to another hotel.

Comfort Inn - Research Triangle Park

Pros: Timely, good breakfast
Cons: A second TV in the breakfast area, and someone to make sure it is on to news in the morning
Location: N/A
There are several pluses, it is close to the interstate, it is close to the research triangle area, in particular the EPA campus. The breakfast was adequate, changed slightly daily and opened at 6am everyday on time. The area is not the best to speak of for facilities, but there are other restaurants in the overall area. There is free parking. For the better price, it is more than adequate.

Poor guest services

Poor breakfast but the did refund me $ 11.00. Very unhelpful front desk staff. Did not know how far or directions to UNS for graduation . Keys had to be re set for everyone on second day . Broken mirror in room and generally rundown look and feel.

Would inspect the room prior to staying again

The front desk service was good and the breakfast food and area was very nice. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the hotel. 1st room on the ground floor was unacceptable. It smelled like a musty basement, the fan in the bathroom did not work and there was obvious mold on the wall in the bathroom. The room was clean but that was all. Upon request the front desk changed my room, and wrote down what the problems were. At least they were very accomodating and friendly and offered to change the room with no argument or question. The 2nd room was much nicer, but there were still some issues. The safe was locked and unusable, and even though I reported it on Saturday it was not fixed before I checked out on Monday. The air conditioner vent was disgusting, covered in dust and possibly mold. The rooms on the 2nd floor were nicer than those on the first floor, nicer furniture, tv. The beds were very very comfortable. The free wireless internet was a nice perk. All I really look for in a hotel room is a clean comfortable room. I priced out hotels in the area and thought the price on this one which included breakfast was a good value. With a little more attention to detail this could be a nice place to stay. Hopefully, they fixed the problems once they were reported. I guess I'll never know.
