"Expensive for what it is."
Dominica should take note of how Mexico does their resorts. You can get better in Cancun for half the price. But I did enjoy a new exotic location. Food was ok but adjusted to the taste of travelers. The pools were great along with the bars. The restaurants and grounds were clean and nice. Staff was helpful at times, but others not. Room mini-bar was not kept stocked as promised. Room cleaning was done, but towels not always replaced and left with none. When checking in, I was suddenly told kids over 12 years old had to have their own room and could not share a room. (Rooms are huge by the way). This was an unexpected expense!! Bottom line, I felt like I had to take care of myself (complain to have things done) and pay American prices for things. Could have gone to Hawaii for the price.

"Good for the price"
The staff was friendly. Reservations at the ala carte restaurants were a little hard to make. Buffets were great. Beach is not private but clean and beautiful, and the closest inclusive bar is not too far. Definitely worth the room upgrade (which we paid for the 2nd day) because the villas are very far from the beach and more run down. Don't count on the Wifi. Even paying in the Internet cafe is slow. My biggest complaint is the housekeeping. We left our room at about 10 each morning and didn't return until 5 and only found our room clean 2 of 6 days. We had to track down a maid for towels, water bottles, and toilet paper. Even when I spoke to a maid on our floor at 2 pm about needing cleaning, it was not done when I got back at 5. Very annoying especially since the front desk gave me attitude when I asked for 2 extra towels the first night. "Can you explain to me right now why you need 2 more towels?" Uh, yeah- I like one for my head and one for my body when I get out of the shower. Rude. They were short on beach towels very often. With 2 pools and a beach spread over a half mile, there was still only one place to get towels and they were out about half the time so the line would be 20 people long... Time wasted.

the place was ok for the money really strong mold smell and door did not lock properly when we asked to be moved we went to a much nicer room. check in was easy we had all the right papers the staff was very friendly the food was decent one thing I did not know booking through travelocity we we're only able to eat at 2 different resturants which was dissapointing one thing that was really upsetting was how guest just left all their garbage around expecting that the staff would pick up after them the staff works really hard to keep things neat

Riu Naiboa All Inclusive

Playa Arena Gorda, Punta Cana - Map
You get what you paid, the hotel was recently renovated, the design and colors are very beautiful, the rooms are small, the beds are umcorfortable, they are very simple and the cleaning is very poor. The hotels are all inclusive but you can make reservations of the restaurant available in the other Riu Hotels near Naiboa. The Naiboa has buffet but the food looks the same every day, a lot of cold food and hot ones are steaks some rice and pasta. The swiming pool is ok but the bar is outside in a terrace behind them. They are a lot of European people some of them very rude. The entertainment team tries to entertain the people. You have to walk about 5 mins to get to the beach. Thet have Near the beach a terrace that you can eat and drink. You can walk in the beach and get to the other hotels and some native stores. If you are going to buy something make an offer first don't accept the prices the tell you. Also is a Disco outside the hotel you can enter free but you have to paid the drinks inside th disco is not included. Overall is a beautiful place but the environment

"Beautiful hotel & beach, spotty service & food"
Paradisus is a beautiful hotel with nice rooms, grounds, and a beautiful beach. We had a number of issues with food and service, possibly because this is the off-season and the staff is on its B game or too drastically downsized? When we arrived at our room after a golf cart ride (the place is very big), neither of our keys would work, so the bell boy used his key to get us in, took ours and said he'd bring back new ones for us. This did happen 45 minutes later, all the while we were waiting to get out of the room and go explore and eat dinner. In the interim, we called the express concierge several times. First they said ok they'd look into it. Second time, they asked if I had called the registration desk (no phone number provided in our room for the desk - and why didn't they connect me there the first time?), third time when I asked for the hotel manager, I was transferred to the VIP lounge. Some other things to be aware of, when you leave the room all the electricity goes off so your AC does too as well as the minibar. The minibar never gets cold, just mildly cool - this is normal and the repairman said its operating as planned. Our minibar was to be re-stocked every day but it wasn't. Our room wasn't cleaned until 3 or 4pm - and the resort was largely empty. We opted to purchase the "royal service" upgrade which includes some spa access but the desk didn't know the spa was closed for renovation. Food was hit or miss, all desserts were awful.
