We were 6 families ( 11 adults and 16 kids including teenagers ).First the good. Clean hotel and good rooms only if you stay at the new facilities that have such as ventus ha. Don’t stay at the marina el Cid itself !! Facility has multiple pools and great for families. Now the bad ! Smell of the seaweed was horrible and we could not use the ocean at all time which was a huge disappointments. What you see on Expedia is a completely different pic from what you actually see. Food was mostly below average . Buffet was ok but restaurants were horrible. I don’t know where they get the chefs from but honestly their cooking skills are mediocre and need to learn a lot. The only buffet that was relatively good was the Dolores restaurant. All the rest was awful that they were nights we stayed hungry. The worst was the kobo night which is the hibachi from chewy meat that you can’t consume to calculates portions that left us with open mouth barely enough for a 5 year old. Also , the internet they give you 2 codes for a family of 3 and you can only use one device so it was very inconvenient as if I wanted to use my iPad I could not as I had to stay with same device !! Also connection was horrible. Lastly , 0 entertainment at night after 10pm you are bored out of your mind. In all I would never stay in this hotel again.

We stayed for one week in July 2025 and we truly had an amazing time. Rooms are nice and spacious with ocean view...yes all rooms face the ocean! The food is out of this world! Tastes amazing and the variety is endless. We were able to book a la carte for 5 nights and wach restaurant was impressive. Beautiful property, well kept and service is outstanding! Thank you staff for apoiling us!

The resort is great. The pools are beautiful and there are options for everyone (quiet relaxing pools, party pools etc.). I would recommend Marina el Cid whole heartedly and think it is excellent value for your money but I do caution that in July the ocean was not swim-able. The water was brown and the seaweed was completely out of control. Not the resort's fault of course and they worked hard to clear the beach but it is a consideration you should be aware of if you are going for the ocean.

Overall a good resort for the price. It fit the bill for us to have a relaxing vacation at a good price. Food was fine - nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. There is enough variety wherever you go to find something good to eat. Pools were great and it being connected to other resorts (Ventus and Ventus Ha) made a big difference. El Cid is definitely on the louder more party side of things in terms of the pool. We found the smaller quieter infinity pool at Ventus to be more our style for our family. Lots of chairs available with it maybe getting a little busier in the afternoon (which we would take an air conditioning break then anyway). Issues: The beaches…are what they are for the time of the year we visited (end of July), which is basically unusable. Sand was fine but the water 50-100 yards out from the beach would be a dark red to brown color and there is indeed an odor. It scent was much more pronounced at the far end of the resort where a new building is being built so there no one assigned to clean up that area. WiFi / Connectivity - cell service is very limited (we have US Cellular / T-Mobile) and they only give you 2 WiFi codes with each room. $60 for the week extra for a additional codes. I decided to forgo getting a code so it was ba

What a great resort! The staff and the foos is amazing! A family of two adults and a 12 year old and 16 year old found this place to be amazing. We have stayed at several all inclusive resorts over the years and I would place this one at the top. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is bar none some of the best food we ever had. We are kind of food snobs and EVERYTHING we had was top notch. We ate at all but one of the restaurants and our favorite being the French restaurant. Take about 50$ in singles and 150 in 5s and tip everyone you can. They work hard and they deserve the extra $. I felt safe at the resort but I wouldn't wonder outside the resort. The pools were nice but we preferred the quiet pool compared to the activity pool but that's our preference. To put this in comparison we have stayed at Breezes and multiple secret resorts as well as Paradisus and with kids this is a no brainer. The beach is nice but the water looks like lake Erie on a bad day, but that is what all of Cancun looks like right now with the sargassum. The staff and the food makes this place top of the line. We are a Family of 5 , 2 teens , and child . And it was Amazing experience !! 5/5 for sure . I do recommend it .Staff are friendly and helpful. You get access to all three resorts , Marina , Ventus, Ventus Ha. Which is perfect for family . The reason i rate the property condition at 4 , is because the AC was not working in our room. However , we were upgraded to new faciltiy , Ventus Ha , which I think iit was amazing I would visit them again

Place was great. We loved how we could use all the pools/restaurants at all 3 resorts. Food was fantastic and service was great. Marina rooms were a little old and the AC wasn’t great but they immediately moved us when we asked. Super nice service. Would return

The property didn't have hot water for two days. The AC was not working properly, the room temperature was not going under 28 degree cc. They took us tour and the buss driver left us out of nowhere in really hot weather.
