My wife and I spent two nights. The location is excellent, very near to the Theater District, NY Public Library, great restaurants, and Bryant Park. The room was small, but very clean, quiet, and the bed was comfy. The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind, especially Wanda and Fausto. When I clumsily cut my hand with my razor, I went to the front desk hoping that they would have have a first aid kit. They did in fact have a well stocked kit, and Wanda took the time to personally clean my nasty cut, apply triple antibiotic and fashion a bandage. I was very touched by her kindness and care. In sum our experience was very nice and we’ll definitely stay there again.

Smallest room ever

I’m surprised because most of the reviews downplayed other reviews concerning the size of the room. I was surprised to arrive to the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in! If we had brought our full size suitcase it would not have fit. Many people in comments said the room was fine-albeit small. This was too small. Barely room to walk around the bed on one side. No counter space around the sink. I would rethink if you need space or have a large suitcase. Otherwise-bed and pillows comfy and hot water good pressure in shower

I had a King room for me and my 14 year old. The room was very small and our window view was of not the best. Overall, it was clean and breakfast was adequate. Close to Time Square, Theater District, and public transportation.

Do not stay here. Save your money.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the doors were locked at 9:30pm local time. I had to wait for someone to open the door for me. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Going up into my room, I realized that the walls were paper-thin and that I could hear everything- the toilet flushing in the room next door, the shower head when it was turned on, entire conversations that were being had. The space itself was very tiney and the pictures online were deceiving. It was a very cramped space. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible (it was so dim I had to use my cell phone flashlight.) And lastly, anytime my neighbor would go in/out of his/her room, the door would slam shut, and shake my entire hotel room wall. I finally got so fed up, I called the front desk to ask if I could be moved if they couldn't resolve this issue. I barely got any sleep and stayed only 1 night at the Wingate. I would strongly advise NOT staying here unless this is your only option.

Very walkable. Rooms are small but lets be real you'll be out all day and just use to sleep. Rooms are clean and bathroom was super cute
