"Riu Emerald Bay is very clean, well maintained and excellent food choices. The older rooms have a deep tub to step in and out of, so ask for a newer room with a shower if you prefer. The brass bands on the beach can be a real spoiler if you want a relaxing holiday. This resort is also a distance from the city itself, be prepared for that too. But the beach is lovely and weather perfect! "

"Beautiful view Very dated rooms. Upgrades would enable staff to clean more effectively. Not to the level of resorts in its category. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, but the rooms have not been. The food was excellent. The buffet was just a buffet, but that's not my preferred choice of food. Well, the other on the property was wonderful. Pool bartenders were awesome. "

"The parkade is extremely tight. Scratched our car getting out of it. Would not recommend using the parkade unless you have a small car. "

"The room was clean and comfortable enough. Amenities advertised were not available. The 3rd floor patio bar was not open, no reason was provided, just that it "wasn't open". The poolside bar was not open. The restaurant was full at mealtimes, with the police officers that were staying at the hotel. The breakfast we were provided on the first 2 days was awful, no options office, no menu, it seemed that we were being served the same mass-produced breakfast that the police officers were coming in shifts to eat. the coffee was served from a large "igloo container", so was not fresh or hot. The Sunday buffet advertised was not available. We were looking forward to being able to relax at the hotel we were staying at, this was not the case as all amenities that would have provided thhis experience were not open."
