"★★★★☆ Good value for Reykjavík I had a very pleasant stay at 201 Hotel. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and it was cleaned every day. The staff were excellent — very friendly, courteous and attentive, and always happy to help. The main downside is the location. It’s in Kópavogur rather than central Reykjavík, and without a car it takes around 40–50 minutes to reach the centre by public transport. I used bus number 2, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and came every 30mins until midnight. The hotel and breakfast are fairly basic, but perfectly adequate. There’s also a shopping centre about a 10-minute walk away. One small thing to note is that there’s no phone or tea/coffee-making facilities in the room, which would have been useful. That said, Reykjavík and Iceland are very expensive, so it’s important to judge the hotel in that context. Overall, I found it to be good value, spacious, clean and comfortable, with particularly good staff. I’d happily stay here again."
