This is our absolute favorite place to stay in NYC. Great location one block from Times Square. Walking distance to theaters and our favorite restaurants. Plus they have the best pizza at their restaurant Bond 45.

Love the location and how helpful the staff are. Housekeeping could be improved. Our room was dusty even if they “made” our bed hastily. We even tip every day of our 5 day stay but it the room wasn’t neat. The tub needs work too because when you pull the knob to enable the shower, it still gushes out from the faucet and waste water. I also found 2 bed bugs and must be the reason why we both had itchy skin. We thought we were just having dry skin due to winter. I like the hotel’s location and the staff but cleanliness can be better.

canceled our reservation without warning

They gave away our room because we checked in later than planned due to some in our party being sick and we had to delay the flight. I wrote them a message after not being able to change the reservation. so when we were there instead of getting the rooms we booked we got some bad rooms for the same price. they wanted to keep the money for the booked rooms as well, luckily hotels.com agent made them return the money. Our rooms were very noisy from the outside main airconditioning/ heating, plus view of the bricks of the next house instead of the rooms with a view we booked. No coffee no tea in the rooms. I am very disappointed with the experience and the way we were treated. Sadly cant recommend this place even though location and architecture are great

The Edison is incredibly well situated for people looking to take in a Broadway show. And it’s really fun to be able to drop in for an after show drink at the Rum House, and convenient to then grab a terrific breakfast the next morning at Friedman’s. Does what it does very well.

Hi, I like the early check in system that you have now. The lobby is not as chaotic as before. It was always a zoo, but I will say that your customer service is excellent! Something that desperately needed upgrading though, are the lobby restrooms. They are pitiful. Thank you.

The hotel's unique art deco design, was very welcoming and comfortable. Close to all ammenties, Times Square and all the theaters for our 3 Broadway shows. Staff was friendly and didn’t mind at all when asked to show my room card before gettimg on the elevator.

Great location, small bathrooms

We stayed one night, came into the city for a show. Loved the location being almost in the heart of Times Square. Checkin was smooth, but they charged $50 for early checkin (we were about 1.5 hrs early) even though our room was ready. We had a king room, 1536. Not much of a view, and the room had an odd layout but it was clean. The room was big enough for a sitting area or even a table and chairs but there was only one small trunk/dresser which had the ice bucket etc on it, and two small side plush chairs. There was no place to lay the suitcase other than the bed. The bathroom was very small, no flat space to lay your things except for a small glass shelf over the sink. Clean and refurbished with nice tile and a spacious shower but the toilet/sink area was super cramped. Our biggest complaint would be the “free breakfast”. You can get a very, very light breakfast in the Friedmans cafe downstairs for $6.50, but the options are very few. No meat options, just eggs or yogurt or French toast. The free grab n go is an option with egg sandwiches, fruit, or yogurt and coffee. We asked for the full menu and the options were terrible and very pricey. We enjoy an omelette or eggs and bacon, really simple. But a la carte was crazy expensive! ($8 just for a couple of eggs alone). We would absolutely recommend the Hotel Edison for a night or two to explore the city but stay elsewhere for a longer stay, and if you like a hearty breakfast, try any of the other breakfast spots nearby.
