I stay at the Ala Moana Hotel about 3 or 5 times a year. It’s clean, the staff are friendly. Starbucks is conveniently in the hotel lobby, but what keeps me coming back is the location. It’s located in a central area to the shopping center, Convention Center numerous restaurants and Ala Moana Shopping Center is right there.

Kamaaina or military rate would be nice to have. Also, first time to be placed on a room by the elevators. Absolutely no quiet time. For 3 nights, hubby and son could hear crackling noises, and elevators going up and down. 🙁 This has been my go to Hotel when I'm in town for meetings.
