Host cancelled day of and we were never refunded

Unfortunately, our family was never able to stay as the host let us know the day of our arrival that they could not accommodate our stay due to a booking error. While it was difficult to find another place last minute, we were offered a full refund by the host and found lodging elsewhere. However, we confirmed that we wanted the refund and the host ghosted us. We literally never heard from them again and we are still waiting for our refund. I’m not sure if this is a scam or not, but we felt it was important to alert others to our experience as we are out a significant amount of money while we wait for Vrbo and the host to “figure things out.” Very unprofessional and a bummer situation that I hope never happens to anyone else. 😞
