Room was clean, but small for the price. Kept kicking the corners of the bed frame since the couch was so close, barely walking distance between. Got bruises to prove. Lighting was scarce., onoy 2 lamps in the suite. None by one side of the bed so you couldn't see the remote channels. The drapes didn't close all the way, so it was hot in the room and the sun kept hitting our faces at 6AM.....................Restaurants were good, but pricey.

"Nice inexpsenive hotel downtown"
The hotel was beautiful, albeit obviously dated. Room was nice, scarce of many decorations. Very spacious, big closet, weird bathroom. The room could've used some updating and the beds weren't super comfortable. The front desk associate who checked us in was awesome, I wish I remembered his name. In the craziness of NYE I understand it's rough but we asked the front desk for a few things and never got them so ended up leaving without.

Most everything was great about this hotel. Was not far from pretty much everything my wife and I went to. Took an Uber pretty much everywhere since everything was close. Hotel staff was very friendly from the valet, front desk, and bartenders. Check in was very easy. The only negative thing would be the train tracks next to the hotel. I was on the eighth floor and constantly heard trains going by.

"Very friendly and accommodating staff"
Everything in the room was as described on the hotel site and by other people leaving reviews.Loved the beds, bedding, spaciousness of the room. There was a huge column in the center of the room.Bathroom was great, lots of room.Wish there had been an extra sink in the coffee/mini fridge area & that we could have controlled the coldness. The staff were so polite and went out of their way to assist us. I paid extra for an additional person to be in our room. It would have been nice if they had provided towels, coffee, cups, etc for our 3rd person without us needing to call to request.Once we called, we were provided what we asked for.I left an expensive bed pillow in the room and didn't realize it until I got home and was unpacking. I spoke with Officer Bill in Security who took my name and number and was to call me within 3 hours. That was almost 48 hours ago and no call. Very sad about this. The staff shined when one of the people in my group fell backward on the escalator. She was assisted to the room. We received first aid help until the DALLAS Fire and Resue arrived to check out the head wound.Thankfully, all was okay. She was provided everything we requested.Their concern for her well being was sincere. It should be noted that access from the street level requires going up either stairs or escalator where we needed an elevator. Elevators were available from the second level lobby and up.Parking fees were as expected but still high. Valet was very accommodating.

"Excellent Choice!"
The La Quinta Downtown is a unique location due to the original building was established in 1924 as Hotel Lawerence. Lots of history, which I love! The renovations are beautiful an the historical pictures were preserved and displayed on the walls. The customer service, cleanliness and hospitable staff and the whole experience was amazing! I will be back to visit!

"Good but not great"
The pool area left a lot to be desired, the area was dirty and not a nice place to sit and relax. No hot tub or guest breakfast. They had a restrant, but I never saw it open. The bar seemed to be open, but I do not drink. It was a very old hotel, but the rooms were nice. They had room service, but a BLT was $13.99, Really?

    Downtown Dallas Hotel Guide

Football cheerleaders. Long-running television shows. Oil derricks and cacti. Such subjects spring to mind when thinking about Dallas, Texas, one of the largest cities in a legendarily big state. But quirky regional charms aren't the only reasons to see if there are any vacancies in downtown Dallas hotels. The city boasts stupendous shopping, wonderful dining, and a blossoming cultural scene.

    Downtown Dallas

Once your Dallas flight has landed, be sure to orient yourself: The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is massive, and downtown Dallas is a dense, urban city center with plenty to see and do. Although you might not expect it, you can find substantial green space around hotels in downtown Dallas. Klyde Warren Park has a children's area, places to play croquet and ping pong, and a putting green, while Main Street Garden Park combines a grassy swathe with cafes, toddler play areas, and free Wi-Fi. Engage in a little art appreciation on the Public Art Walk Dallas, a 3.3-mile, self-guided tour of downtown's art and architecture that starts at 2001 Flora Street. You can also relive some infamous history at the Sixth Floor Museum and peer out of the very window through which Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK. Yearning to shop? Dallas has more malls per capita than any other place in the United States, and a 15-minute drive north will get you to Highland Park, a ritzy district with fantastic boutiques that's dubbed the Beverly Hills of Texas. And if you're hungry, Dallas has got you covered. Your hotel near downtown Dallas is more likely than not a stone's throw from sushi, French cuisine, Mexican food, and pub grub. Cruise Elm Street, Main Street, and Commerce Street for the best selection.
