Scranton is the perfect destination for an all-American adventure. Known as the Electric City, this quaint Pennsylvania town has a fascinating past that stretches far beyond its role as home of the fictional enterprise Dunder Mifflin in "The Office." Scranton does an excellent job preserving its heritage as a Rustbelt city and is a fascinating place to explore the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution. Flights to Scranton land at the Wilkes Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP). You will discover how tickets to Scranton are tickets to discovering the history of steel, coal, railroads, steam power, electricity, and more.
Scranton hotels, especially those in the city's historic center, are ideal home bases for exploring the city and its surrounding region. Some hotel bookings can add car rentals to create the ultimate vacation packages to Scranton. You can also just request transportation to travel the 20 minutes from the airport into town. Numerous car rental companies can be found near the baggage claim on the first level of the terminal building, and a ground transportation service—the only authorized one in the airport that provides taxis and limousines—is located there as well. Public transportation isn't really an option from AVP to the city. To travel around with ease, stick with renting a car or hiring a taxi.
To explore Scranton is to immerse yourself in two distinct yet inexorably intertwined timelines—a Rustbelt city amid a vibrant revival and a scenic Pennsylvania town once thrust into the country's churning Industrial Revolution. Scranton effortlessly embodies both of these identities and pushes the limits beyond. Discover these two worlds by booking a trip now! Very cool, old train station and we enjoyed all of that. Coffee shop was great, if they hadn’t run out of items they had showing as available. The female barista was so sweet and pleasant. The male barista was actually a jerk, rude and annoyed at our being there it seemed.
I travel a lot and this is a great place to stay. Clean, well cared for property. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are not fancy, but have what you need and they are clean and pleasant. Good beds and linens. I highly recommend.
The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The tv remote control worked only half the time. The thermostat seemed to be faulty , because when I set it to 65 degrees the room was still toasty. The door was sticky.
