"Wonderful Experience"
We have stayed in this resort twice and both times exceeded our expectations. Beautiful panoramic views of the harbor, bridge, and cruise/cargo ships. Facility was in the midst of renovations, so a full service restaurant was not available directly on site. However, "The Fish House" was a quick stroll across the parking lot and Charleston is a short and inexpensive water taxi ride away. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were impeccably cleaned and elegantly decorated. I look very forward to a return visit and highly recommend this resort!

"Clean, affordable, quiet and a good nights sleep!"
I opted for a regular/standard king room, not the "plus" room, and this was more than fine for the night. The room was very clean, updated and affordable! One of the lower rates for the labor day weekend, so that was wonderful! Had I opted for the "plus" I would have gotten a fridge - so if you plan on staying where a fridge for beverages would be nice, go for the plus! :-) Also, as a single female traveling solo, I felt safe here and that is all I need!

"The room was so big which was wonderful! "
We had a delightful experience here. Only two little blips- an outlet was out and we were unable to turn on lamps, it wasn't enough to mention to the staff but it should be looked at. And the wifi really didn't work. We could hook up to it but it was easier to use the one my husband brought. Breakfast was good, staff pleasant, clean room.

"Very nice hotel near our Festival By The Sea!"
We really enjoyed staying at the Town & Country Inn in Charleston. We could not have been more impressed with the service, friendliness of the staff, comfort of the room, and convenience of location... not to speak of the reasonableness of the price! Thanks for a wonderful setting for a great evening for my wife and me!

"Pretty good choice"
Room was sufficient. I have never before stayed in a suite that did not provide at least a few plates and silverware in the room. You had to go to the front desk to ask for everything for the kitchen, it literally had nothing. Thankfully I had brought a sponge by accident, but we had no dish soap so washing dishes that we had just had raw chicken on was a bit....scary and we then didn't use those dishes again. Also, we had an emergency and needed the hospital at around 3am, went to the front desk and all they could say is "well, I know there is one but I don't know where it is" NOT helpful. Earlier in our stay we had asked for directions to the library since their internet went out and I had to submit a report for work by a certain time. The directions they wanted to give was "oh, yeah, right down .... street" They were unable to elaborate further. I am staying in the hotel so I clearly don't live here and don't know where that is!!! Fortunately in this day with all our technology we were able to figure it out by ourselves. Overall hotel was clean and sufficient for our needs.

    Charleston Beach Hotel Guide

The days of tipping one’s top hat in greeting may be long gone in most of America, but in Charleston, South Carolina, one may not be surprised to encounter such an old-fashioned tradition. After all, Southern hospitality is alive and well here, whether on the shady front porches of 19th century homes or the oak-lined streets of the French Quarter. Add incredible cuisine and an alluring waterfront location, and it is easy to see why this town has long been considered a top American destination. Days spent exploring historic landmarks and breezy evenings on the patios of Charleston, SC oceanfront hotels? Yes, please. Read on to discover even more about this charming city.

What is The Battery in Charleston?

The Battery is one of the best reasons to visit Charleston. This famous seawall served as a military defense during the Civil War and today is tasked with protecting the shoreline. But it isn’t just history lovers who will enjoy it here—The Battery is also known for its elegant, antebellum mansions and beautiful waterfront parks. No Charleston vacation is complete without a day spent exploring this fascinating area.

Travel back in time along Rainbow Row, a group of Georgian rowhouses painted in gorgeous pastels that look otherworldly in the morning light. As you journey south to East Battery Street, immerse yourself even further in the Old South as you admire the historic homes set amongst stately oak trees. Tour the Edmondston-Alston House and admire its harbor views and magnificent architecture. Once you have worked up an appetite, you may be thinking of asking the locals…

Any advice on finding the best Charleston restaurants with a waterfront view?

When it comes to laid-back Southern living, the best advice is always to go for a stroll and have a chat with the friendly residents, between sips of sweet tea and local gossip, of course. For a truly authentic local meal, those in the know will likely point you toward Bowens Island Restaurant. Yes, this rustic oyster spot has a James Beard Award under its belt, but don’t let that fool you—the dress code here includes rubber boots and fly-fishing hats. There is nothing quite like the view from the deck as the sun sets over the South Carolina marshes, casting pink and orange hues over the shrimping boats.

At many Charleston beach hotels, the best waterfront view is no further than right downstairs. Harborside at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina treats its guests to three on-site restaurants with sweeping ocean views and a menu that changes daily to accommodate the latest fresh catch. And in this southern city, the vast ocean isn’t the only water you can gaze upon while you dine—at Charleston Kiawah Island/Andell Inn, you’ll have river views that are just as gorgeous.

A vacation filled with irresistible Southern charm, delicious food, and history around every corner is just what your heart desires. Waking up to the sounds of crashing waves and sea birds will simply be the cherry on top. With Travelocity, finding Charleston hotels on the beach is as easy as uncovering shells in the sand. And in this seaside hamlet, that is easy indeed.
