Hotel was very nice. It was quiet at night. View on one side (glass door) was the ocean and on the other side (room door) was the town.

"Not as close to the beach as I thought"
I was booked into a villa, several rows away from the ocean. It overlooked a lagoon and there was a lot of wildlife. We sat on our deck and watched gators, birds, deer, and lizards. The resort is absolutely huge, but they do offer complementary rides if needed. It was confusing getting checked in because the resort requires a pass which I did not have, so the security officer reluctantly issued us a temporary pass so we could get in to go register. If I return to this resort, I would rather stay at the hotel overlooking the ocean.

"Cozy hotel right on the beach. "
The room was cute although small. We enjoyed our experience except parking can be a neusence. You also pay $7.50 a day for parking but sometimes the lots are full.

"Exceeded expectations!"
Everything about our stay was impeccable. The staff was informative and welcoming. The decor, from lobby to room, was immediately relaxing. The room was very clean. The beds and pillows were perfectly comfy. The hotel was at 100% occupancy, but exceptionally quiet. Truly, it felt like we were the only ones there. The pool was divine... absolutely loved the pool body pillows..... I actually fell asleep on one in the pool! The location is perfect; very short walking distance to great shopping, wonderful restaurants, and the village market.....and a very short drive to a lush beach access point. There was not a single thing lacking, and absolutely everything was beyond our expectations. We will be returning.....without a doubt! Thank you for a wonderful experience/stay!

"Wonderful Experience"
We have stayed in this resort twice and both times exceeded our expectations. Beautiful panoramic views of the harbor, bridge, and cruise/cargo ships. Facility was in the midst of renovations, so a full service restaurant was not available directly on site. However, "The Fish House" was a quick stroll across the parking lot and Charleston is a short and inexpensive water taxi ride away. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were impeccably cleaned and elegantly decorated. I look very forward to a return visit and highly recommend this resort!

    Charleston Beach Hotel Guide

The days of tipping one’s top hat in greeting may be long gone in most of America, but in Charleston, South Carolina, one may not be surprised to encounter such an old-fashioned tradition. After all, Southern hospitality is alive and well here, whether on the shady front porches of 19th century homes or the oak-lined streets of the French Quarter. Add incredible cuisine and an alluring waterfront location, and it is easy to see why this town has long been considered a top American destination. Days spent exploring historic landmarks and breezy evenings on the patios of Charleston, SC oceanfront hotels? Yes, please. Read on to discover even more about this charming city.

What is The Battery in Charleston?

The Battery is one of the best reasons to visit Charleston. This famous seawall served as a military defense during the Civil War and today is tasked with protecting the shoreline. But it isn’t just history lovers who will enjoy it here—The Battery is also known for its elegant, antebellum mansions and beautiful waterfront parks. No Charleston vacation is complete without a day spent exploring this fascinating area.

Travel back in time along Rainbow Row, a group of Georgian rowhouses painted in gorgeous pastels that look otherworldly in the morning light. As you journey south to East Battery Street, immerse yourself even further in the Old South as you admire the historic homes set amongst stately oak trees. Tour the Edmondston-Alston House and admire its harbor views and magnificent architecture. Once you have worked up an appetite, you may be thinking of asking the locals…

Any advice on finding the best Charleston restaurants with a waterfront view?

When it comes to laid-back Southern living, the best advice is always to go for a stroll and have a chat with the friendly residents, between sips of sweet tea and local gossip, of course. For a truly authentic local meal, those in the know will likely point you toward Bowens Island Restaurant. Yes, this rustic oyster spot has a James Beard Award under its belt, but don’t let that fool you—the dress code here includes rubber boots and fly-fishing hats. There is nothing quite like the view from the deck as the sun sets over the South Carolina marshes, casting pink and orange hues over the shrimping boats.

At many Charleston beach hotels, the best waterfront view is no further than right downstairs. Harborside at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina treats its guests to three on-site restaurants with sweeping ocean views and a menu that changes daily to accommodate the latest fresh catch. And in this southern city, the vast ocean isn’t the only water you can gaze upon while you dine—at Charleston Kiawah Island/Andell Inn, you’ll have river views that are just as gorgeous.

A vacation filled with irresistible Southern charm, delicious food, and history around every corner is just what your heart desires. Waking up to the sounds of crashing waves and sea birds will simply be the cherry on top. With Travelocity, finding Charleston hotels on the beach is as easy as uncovering shells in the sand. And in this seaside hamlet, that is easy indeed.
