Book a hotel near Cataloochee Ski Area, Maggie Valley

"I stayed at a Quality Inn recently, and unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. The pool and hot tub were in terrible condition—visibly dirty to the point that my family and I didn’t feel comfortable using them at all. This was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel, so it was a major letdown. Breakfast was also poorly managed. We went down around 8:30 a.m., and they were already out of basic items like milk and coffee. When I asked the receptionist, she simply laughed and said they were out for the day. While I don’t necessarily blame her personally, it was clear this was a known and ongoing issue. Another major inconvenience was the elevator being out of service. This could be a serious problem for anyone who has difficulty using stairs, and it’s something guests should definitely be aware of. The room itself was acceptable, but not great—there were a few stains on the bedding, which didn’t inspire much confidence in overall cleanliness. Overall, I would not stay here again and would recommend looking elsewhere."

"Room was clean enough… Not immaculate but not filthy. Parking is tight. Pool was closed. The back porch overlooking the creek was really nice. The location was excellent. "

"We had a snowstorm on the night before we visited this house, so our host, Brandon, made arrangements for us to stay in another of his houses (Smoky Bear cabin). He made sure we arrived safely and checked-in with us to assure that everything was in-order. We appreciate his going above and beyond what might have been expected, and he certainly made our vacation a complete success. And the Smoky Bear cabin more than met our expectations. It was very comfortable, clean, has a gas fireplace so no wood required, and was so close to town that we were able to easily visit nearby restaurants. If the Ridgeview cabin is anything like the Smoky Bear cabin, I'm sure it is a wonderful house, so we would highly recommend staying in either house. We will plan to visit again! "
