Room cleanliness was good as it had been renovated & painted. Bath spotless . Bed & pillows were great. Staff was efficient but no overt friendliness. What ruined it was the inability to control the heater. Whether on Auto or low we froze or overheated.

MY ROOM TV DIDNT WORK THE STAFF DID MOVE ME TO ANOTHER ROOM WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM ( THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME 2 YRS IN CONSECUTIVE ,LAST YEAR I STAYED THERE IOT HAPPENED TO ME AND 2 YEARS CONSECUTIVE LY , THE ICE MAKER DIDNT WORK HAD TO GO TO THE RESTURANT FOR ICE.) I HAF AN INTERIOR ENTRY ROOM THE FROONT DOOR DID NOT LOCK TO LET NO ONE IN TO THE COREDORE TO THE ROOMS , I FEEL IT WAS LIKE HAVING A EXTERIOR ENTREE ROOM , ON TOP OF THAT MY ROOM DEAD BOLT DIDNT LOCK ONLY THE MAIN LOCK WORK. NOT AS SAFE AS IT SHOULD BE . THE RESTAURANT WAS LIMITED TO FRY FOOD ONLY DO TO A BROKEN GRILL , ALTHOGH THE FRIED FOOD WAS GOOD, IN ALL FAIRNESS , I UNDERSTAND THAT AREA OF NC GOT HIT HARD BY THE HURRICANE LAST YEAR ALOT OF DAMAGED THERE ! MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WERE CLOSED FOR 2 MONTHS DUE TO THE DAMAGE THERE SO I GAVE IT ONLY A 4 RATING, I WOULD OF GAVE IT A 5 IFS ATLEAST THE DOORS LOCK PROPERLY............... I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR AND I WOULD RECOMMENT TO ANYONE TO STAY THERE, I HOPE THESE PROBLEMS A FIXED AND ADD MORE HADICAPT PARKING PLACESCAUSE I AM PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SENIOR , I DID SAY THAT TO THE STAFF I HAD TO PARK A BIT AWAY FROM THE DOOR TO MY ROOM AND ALL THE CARS IN THE NEAR SPACES DIDNT HAVE HANDICAPPED PLATES OR WIDO TAGS ( MIY VECHILE DOES HAVE A HANDICAPPE PLATE ) PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM

This a cute place to stay in the mountains. Lots of great restaurants in easy driving distance, plus restaurant/bar onsite. My room was not the typical hotel room style in layout or decor. It was charming and although i was solo it would have been perfect for 2 friends or couples traveling together. There were 2 "sleeping areas" with a short hall in between that had the bathroom and a small coffee room in between. My only complaint was i stayed there on a short vacation leading up to a business trip in SC. I was driving to mynoffice the next morning, but my room had no hairdryer to do my hair. I went to the desk and they said all rooms had them. The said someone must have taken it and they had no extras. So that was a disappointment that they couldn't do anything to helo in that regard.

Pretty average stay. The bar/restaurant was good for watching football. Room was pretty loud between the window unit fan for heat and the people next door. Could hear every word and they were just talking in normal volume. Clean bed and bathroom.

We stayed before and it was good. This time we were put in a tiny upstairs room with no elevator. The desk said they had flooded rooms in the 1st floor and nothing available unless we shortened our stay. The bed was against the wall the room was so small. The restaurant downstairs is rarely open. The stay was disappointing this time.

We made a reservation at the last minute and were not expecting much and were extremely happy. Our room was very clean, and the hotel has been remodeled recently. I stayed at the Strat in Vegas last month and paid the upcharge for a recent “remodeled” room and the room at Smokey Falls was ten times better. In fact, we liked it so much we booked a trip for a week here this summer. Would highly recommend.
