Hotel was outdated. No complementary breakfast or free coffee in rooms. Queen double sweet only 2 pillows, no remote for TV. Dirty curtains and rugs. No hot water in sinks. Outside no attention or attempt to keep common areas clean. Trash, empty drinks, dead bird, homeless people sleeping in corner. Restaurant options minimal and over priced for the quality of food. Paid $420.00 for 2 nights plus additional $211.00 for incidental fee that I still have not been reimbursed for. Had to pay for parking through an app. No gambling in hotel had to go to casinos next door.

The rooms were not properly cleaned. No mattress pad on the beds. Dusty curtains and drapes. Dirty spots on the chairs , etc. Corners in the bathroom was dirty. Rooms smelled like stale smoke and very dimly lite as too hide the dirt. Front and boardwalk entrances in need of a good powerwash. Cigarettes butts and other debris on the ground. I will never book a reservation at the Showboat.

Front desk was really rude upon checking in. I stayed for 3 nights when I called to ask if there was a microwave in the lobby I can use to warm up my food. I was told I had to rent the microwave for $20 unless I’m staying in a suit. Honestly that’s really crazy to me you spent all that money on a hotel and you have to RENT a microwave that’s crazy!

Hotel very run down, casino shut down at midnight bar shutdown at midnight. Walking from elevator to lobby there was a strange smell. Probably will never stay again. Atlantic city on a whole is dirty, disgusting and unsafe.

I booked adjoining rooms at the Showboat Hotel for a family trip to the Island Waterpark in September 2025, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The rooms were nothing like the pictures advertised on the website. While they claim to have renovated, it feels like a quick patch job at best. The paint smell was overwhelming, the toilets were child-sized, and the tubs were so high you practically need a ladder to get in. The hallways were dirty and poorly maintained, which made a bad first impression. Valet parking was another letdown. I paid for valet service, and they insisted on taking the money upfront the very first night. Later in the week, valet wasn’t even available, which made the whole charge feel pointless. On top of that, when I arrived to check in, staff couldn’t find my Expedia reservation because my son had already checked in early. Even the manager who tried to check me in was unable to locate my reservation. At one point, they were essentially telling me I would have to go home and they would still keep the $800+ I had already paid. It wasn’t until my son told me he had all four room keys that I was finally able to stay. It’s frustrating, because this property used to be a good hotel and casino. I like the concept of a family-friendly resort with a water park, but the way it’s being managed now is chaotic. Dining was another big disappointment — there are no real restaurants, just concession-stand-type food. The water park itself is

Should've Gone to Hard Rock.

The best I can say is that it was a quick trip down the elevator and on to the beach. The bathroom was stocked with 2 bath towels, 1 bar of soap. When you're at the beach, you tend to take more showers. This is the first time in my life I've seen a hotel room that didn't have a coffee maker or a blow dryer. Room service was not a daily thing unless you called for it. Parking was $50 for 2 nights. I had stayed at the Trop the previous week and parking was a total of $10 for 3 nights. I was surprised by the condition of the hotel. Most of the room doors were scratched badly, many of the carpets on the main floor were outlined with black duct tape, and most ice machines were broken. We had to check several floors to find a machine that worked. On a positive note, i did appreciate seeing some of Seward Johnson's sculptures.
