Great room

The only thing I can say against this hotel is you have to walk directly through the casino and past tons of shops to get to the elevator for the rooms. Bad layout. Should be an elevator right in the main lobby. And with that said the room was amazing. Beautiful views of the ocean. Pleasing interior design of the room. The bathroom is huge. And the bed is very comfortable. Soft fluffy pillows. Just a great nights sleep.

Hotel was not connected to casino

We had to walk almost 1/2 a City block to get to the casino from our hotel. There is no connecting buildings, parking lots or even safe side walks. We was confronted by panhandlers while trying to get back and forth from the hotel.

Pros: The corner room i had, did have alot of space. Besides the layout in the lobby, the hotel seems old from the hallway carpet, curtains and wallpaper.
Cons: More signage showing you how to get to the ' Chelsea Tower' thats across the street. As well as posting that when people are paying for a room.
Location: there is only a small diner in the lobby. Everyting else you have to go outside to get to it unlike the main building where everything is in the lobby
Please beware when staying at the "Chelsea Tower", when booking i didn't realize this nothing but the old Chelsea hotel next door. The name is very deceptive if you've visited before and know all the other towers are connected to the casino where you never have to go out of the building to get to the casino, stores or restaurants. We parked in the self parking garage and went to the closest check counter. We were told we have to walk to the other end of the building and go to the main front desk to check in. At the main front desk we were told we had to walk to the ' Chelsea Tower' front desk to check in. There were no signs giving directions where to go. After walking around outside aimlessly for 5 mins in the cold, we figured out we had to walk across the street, thru a small parking garage, to the lobby front desk of the Chelsea Tower. It is very inconvenient and you will have to walk out of the building to do anything in the Tropicana. If you have elderly, small children, or physically challenged people in your party this is not the place to stay. From the parking garage to the Chelsea has to be about 2-3 blocks while your carrying or pulling your luggage. Not to mention your charged the same price as staying in the main property!!! If I cant stay in the main building I just wont go back, i'll just go to the Harrah's.

Customer service was horrible

We waited over an hour to check in. After 30 minutes of waiting I called to speak to someone. The operator said it was a busy day during the summer. I paid more for the room because it was a busy day. They know how many people are checking in they should have enough people working to handle the crowd. I was very disappointed. When we finally got to the desk to check in we got the same story. If they had someone handing out waters or at least making believe they cared that you were inconvenienced it would have made a difference.
