They can do better…

I used the Hilton app to check in and reserve my room. “Bypass the desk on check-in“ it said. So I grabbed all my luggage and went to my assigned room expecting to use the virtual key in the app. It did not work. I grabbed all the luggage again and rode back down five floors to the front desk, where they told me they had changed my room number without notifying me. I got two plastic keys and went to the new room. The plastic keys worked, but the “updated” virtual key on my phone still didn’t work. Annoying, but no biggie. So we got unpacked and sat down on the bed to check the weather and found that the TV didn’t work. After a call to the front desk, they sent someone up who found that the remote batteries were dead. He replaced the batteries very quickly, and we are back in business. Other than that, the room was fine but there was a very large, dark stain on the carpet outside the bathroom door, and lots of crumbs under the edges of the bed. Normally, I love Doubletree, but this one just wasn’t up to standard.

4am FIRE ALARM

I am a caregiver who begged family to give me a much needed weekend break. I checked in around 8pm. Relaxed from my sleep aid, I was resting well. Then the fire alarm went off at 4:20 am. I had to get dressed and take the stairs to evacuate. After returning to my room, I couldn’t fall back asleep. I asked several employees what was going on no one had an answer. Also the comforter did not smell fresh as all so I took it off the bed. This was the most unpleasant stay I have had at your hotel.

The bathroom was very rusty, sink drain, tub drain etc., The toilet was running all night long very very loudly. The a/c vent was dusty and kept me sneezing. There were also little water flies on the shower wall. Not many about 4 or 5. The actual bedroom area was clean. The employees were very nice and courteous. And this hotel was in a very nice location close to shops and restaurants which were in walking distance.

The property was old and outdated. the outlets in every lamp base did not work also the outlets in the walls were too loose to hold the phone charges bricks securely so we had a lot of trouble charging our phones overnight. TV remote battery was dead. Just overall not a great stay

The lobby was large with a bar and restaurant. The parking is easy and close to the building. The pool area is great with lots of trees and a jogging path. The room did not have a refrigerator, and that was a disappointment. The room was quiet and clean.

The area was convenient to get to UCF but the rooms were very badly lit and kinda dark. Besides that, the beds weren't queen size as I was told, but rather full size and uncomfortable.
