Beautiful inside and out

Beautiful place to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. We loved fishing, visiting the waterfowl museum, riding the ferry and seeing the wild horses. TAwesome host. Will definitely be back.

Just Right

The property is well appointed and beautiful. Clean, comfy beds and everything we could need at home. It is a few steps to a peaceful amazing waterfront area where we were able to wade and explore an area full of life. We saw a ray, a sea cucumber, many hermit crabs and cool shells. The sky, sunsets and stars were amazing. We very much enjoyed our stay.We enjoyed bike riding, taking the ferry over to Cape Lookout Lighthouse and the Core Island Waterfowl Museum.

Great location and property

We had a great time at Harker's Island. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. This property has easy access to the Sound and a little beach at low tide. It's a short drive (1 mile?) to the end of the island to catch the ferry to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. The trip to the tip of Cape Lookout is well worth the effort to get there.

Little piece of paradise

We found Harkers Island a few years back. We have stayed at other rentals on the island and by far this one was our favorite. The owners live next door which means the place is well taken care of. The view of the water is spectacular. I’m already working on scheduling my next vacation. I would highly recommend the owners and the property, just save me some dates.

Peaceful and relaxing.

Beautiful and comfortable home with amazing views. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the sound and enjoying the breeze. The home had everything you needed to cook your meals and the furniture and beds were very comfortable and in great condition. The decor was lovely and we loved the peacefulness of the island as it was a great place to relax. We highly recommend and would definitely come back again.

Everything we were looking for !

First time at harkers island and it was wonderful. Location is perfect if you want to adventure out to other areas it really is a prime location. The house itself , immaculate. House was well stocked w items people may forget at home which is super convenient and gracious, views are unbeatable. I will note the stairs are harder for those with a little age, we underestimated them by the photos in the listing , which is to no fault of the owner just something for certain folks to keep in mind. The owner of the house is very hospitable as well esp towards the little ones!

Perfection on the Island

This house is exceptional!! Very clean, cozy and great location. We felt at home and very safe there. The owners are close by and are so friendly and kind. Views are beautiful from the living room, porch, swing, hammock or by the water. Cape Lookout lighthouse can be seen from inside the house or the dock. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, quaint and quiet island retreat. Lighthouse Lookout is a hidden gem on Harkers Island. The hosts Jamy and Marcia are so welcoming and accommodating; as well as the community of Harkers Island. A true home away from home!!

Fabulous Birthday Getaway

This property was the perfect base for enthusiastic shellers. Just minutes away from the ferry that takes one to Shackleford Banks and/or Cape Lookout. Beautiful sunsets on the sound and extremely relaxing!

Stunning views from very cute cottage in a laid back island paradise

My family just finished a 10 day getaway at this wonderful property on Harkers Island - we were so sad to leave! The island is situated in a perfect spot - close to many things like the Cape Lookout ferry, the Core Sound waterfowl museum and historic downtown Beaufort which has many restaurants and attractions - while being remote enough to experience the tranquility and splendor of an island getaway. There are grocery stores very close by for essentials whilst for greater selection the supermarkets in Beaufort are the closest and well stocked. Jamy and Marcia are wonderful hosts, very responsive and provided everything we needed to have a great vacation at their property. The cottage is almost brand new construction but feels very homey with lovely seaside decor and furnishings. All the appliances, including air conditioner (important this time of year!) are new and worked great. We loved sitting on the deck watching sunsets and shooting stars and highly recommend this Lighthouse Lookout island getaway!

Wonderful Getaway!

What a beautiful place to spend quality time with family! This listing was even better than we expected. We had never been to Harkers Island and it definitely lived up to its reputation. From hanging out by the water, shelling, fishing off Cape Lookout and just relaxing in this gorgeous home, we had the best time! The hosts were absolutely amazing and very responsive to all of our needs. We highly recommend!
