Worst experience ever
Rhett,
I wanted to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the recent events. My entire family and I drove multiple hours to your vacation home, only to be turned away. As a result, our Thanksgiving plans have been completely ruined. I understand that some aspects were beyond your control, but I hope you can understand the significant inconvenience this has caused us.
We had been looking forward to spending quality time with the kids, with arts and crafts projects planned, and a special meals prepared. Unfortunately, those plans were dashed, and we were left to scramble for an alternative. We managed a brief, 30-minute gathering with my elderly parents, ordering pizza and trying to make the best of a difficult situation. Explaining the disappointment to the kids was especially tough. Afterwards, we packed up and embarked on the long, 4-hour drive back home, each of us heading our separate ways.
Beyond the practical losses, I'm heartbroken that we won't be able to create lasting memories together this year. Instead, we'll each be sitting at home with a poignant reminder of what could have been. What's especially difficult for me is thinking about the limited time I have left with my aging parents. The thought of not being able to share this special day with them is truly devastating.
