I definitely give the cleanliness and the size of the room five stars! The room was fantastic. Just note that there is no carpeting on the floor so it is quite loud, especially if you have pets. Or somebody's kid running around on the floor above you. The service was just okay. When I got there there was a sign saying that they were out helping a guest and they would be right back. So I waited about 10 minutes for someone to appear so I could check in. And then they were definitely not too excited about being there. But the worst part about the stay I would say was the breakfast. The food was pretty awful. The scrambled egg patty was dry and had no taste, same with the sausage. Even the sausage gravy with the biscuit had zero flavor. Of course I could have went with a bagel or the waffle, but I was trying to eat something with a little more protein, as was my husband who is a diabetic. Therefore there wasn't a whole lot for us to eat. I will say another positive is all of the open area they have around the hotel for dogs to be able to get out and run around. However, if your dog has to be on a leash just note that there is no fenced in dog area. It's just an open field.

Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Charlottesville VA. Staff was great and the room was very comfortable. There were a good number of choices for breakfast and the bar is fully stocked.

Country Inn & Suites have always been one of my favorite places to stay due to their amazing breakfast. This one was so disappointing, it has definitely changed my opinion for future bookings at this hotel chain. The bathrooms are a bit old, ours had broken tiles on the floor, we covered with towels so we didn't cut our feet. By the time we managed to get hot water in the morning, there was only enough time for 1 of a party of 3 to shower before checkout. The a/c is not controlled by you, I kept turning off the heat, had it on cool, and the heat still kept running, it was a miserable nights sleep. But, the staff was fantastic, easy parking. And the pizza joint in the same lot, Pino's, was amazing and convenient.
