This property is old and outdated. The bathroom was dirty, tub did not drain. Shower was awful. No breakfast. The kitchenette was also old and silverware was dirty and looked like something one would use for camping. For the price and description I hoped for better quality. Ac was also loud and not the best. Would have left if room had not been paid for already.

Federal City

Wonderful low key place, not too fancy but quiet and comfortable. Staff is awesome- whatever we needed was no problem. My dogs were treated like guests too! My husband and I find this is one of our fav places because of price and quality.

Hotel is in good condition and clean. rate is reasonable. Only concern I had is a food delivery person wandered up to my room at 1:30 in the morning and was knocking on my door for 30 minutes off and on. I looked out the peep hole and saw someone with a bag. This made me concerned about security. I didn't answer--the front desk then called me and said someone was trying to deliver me food and I told them I had not ordered food. Needless to say I was then up and could not get back to sleep which was irritating. I am a frequent traveler and most hotels will not allow delivery directly to the rooms--you must go to front desk and call the room and they come get it. I mentioned at check out and the front desk clerk pretty much blew my concerns off. Her customer service was not good. Am posting in hopes that management will see--also for those who stay in future--for your info. That said it is a decent hotel in Algiers so I would stay again--maybe it is an isolated incident.

Family vacation

We arrived at the hotel after a 21hr car ride. The room was ready for us. The lady at the front desk was very nice and informative. The room was clean and the beds are super soft. My boys were excited to find out it was an old Navy hotel. It is in a great location, just a few minutes from the ferry that takes you to the French Quarter. We'd stay again if we went back to New Orleans.

condition

Pros: size of the room, air-conditioning, cleaning etc all v good.
Cons: need to add room service for food.
Location: this is a federal area, nothing to do nearby. you can look at the soldiers if you like. However, down town is about 15 mts drive where you have everyt
i stayed one night. the Inn is located in a federal area March 31. the room was spacious, clean located on 2nd floor. i will not recommend for people with disabilities or older folks who have difficulty in climbing stares. they don't have elevators etc. There is no food in the INN and none located in immediate vicinity. However, the room had a small kitchen. if you want to save on money, you can stay comfortably at this place and warm your own food. Over all it is a good place for people on Budget.

Quiet, comfortable

One of my favorite places. Away from the hustle and bustle. Even though our room was in a high traffic area, it was amazingly quiet. A very secure area, with the military base nearby.

First time here

The room was big and comfortable. Also clean. We went to New Orleans for a football so everywhere we looked the prices were way too high plus you had to get the room for two nights. Here the room was relatively cheap and only had to get it for one night. It is out of the way but following other comments, we took a cab to the ferry, spent time in the Quarter and took a cab back to the hotel. So all-in-all it fit our needs and gave it a good rating. If it was in the Quarter then it would have been awesome.

Very nice but far from civilization

The hotel is very nice, clean and well kept. The room was more than what I expected. The only drawback is that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere (in Algiers) and there is nothing around it. To get to the city I had to use a cab for $20 each way for the 4 days I was there. If one has a car, it is worth the price.

WAY above our expectations!!

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, friendly & knowledgable staff
Cons: Nothing close
In booking this hotel, site unseen, and not being completely "familiar" with the area ... I was a bit skeptical about what we would be walking in to. Upon arrival, however, we were so very pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and the accommodations provided. The staff is beyond helpful with information about getting around New Orleans and other important information. The location is quiet and secure. It is on the old Naval Base (still occupied by some Marine forces). The only "drawback" is there are not any places (close by) to eat. We were able to order pizza, though, so that worked out just fine. I feel that once the hotel has been established for a longer period of time (it is still "new") that other businesses will pop up around it. The residential sections around the hotel (once you leave the base) are a bit "sketchy" ... Which is why we chose to take a taxi to the Algiers Ferry (about $8 one way) every day, which took us across the MIssissippi to Canal Street (right @ the French Quarter, Aquarium, River Walk, Jackson Square, etc). Be prepared to do a LOT of walking, by the way. The room, itself, was very clean and well kept. You have the luxury of a FULL kitchen - refrigerator, microwave, stove top - (completely stocked with all the dishes, utensils, pots & pans needed). The cleaning service is friendly and will accommodate any needs you have during your stay. I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with our stand and we will DEFINITELY stay here on our next trip to the Crescent City!!
