Very much looking forward to coming back to the rock star room in the future. While we could hear people through the walls on occasion it very much quieter down at night, but I would take into consideration that more busy times like holidays may be louder (which I imagine is an issue at all hotels in the area) Our mini fridge wasn’t working when we arrived, we let from desk know and it was fixed in a couple hours. Be aware they will charge $15 per night for amenities upon checkout. We didnt expect this but were so in a rush to get to the airport we just paid it. I’m not sure if that’s normal for hotels. I guess electricity and water are $15 per day? That’s why I brought the service rating down a star.

The International House was a fun place to stay. My room was small but comfortable. The lobby is filled with art, and the owner changes the art regularly. It is a bit like staying in a museum. The staff was friendly and everything was immaculately clean. The outside walls are not terribly soundproof, and I could hear loud conversations on the street many floors beneath me. The hotel appears not to have a service elevator; so during the day, I did have to share elevator space with vacuums and other cleaning necessities. These are nitpicking complaints. This really is a wonderful property with an amazing staff.

The staff was wonderful! We stayed on penthouse floor. The only complaint was that there weren’t any rollaway beds and that the handicap ramp was locked from the outside when we tried to arrive.

Once, but Never Again

The hotel is beautiful and my room was very clean and comfortable. However, I was billed for *something* a few days after I checked out (as there were no actual details about the purchase in the transaction record). I was still in New Orleans, so I walked over to the front desk to inquire about the additional charge, but wasn't given anything like a satisfactory answer, so I successfully disputed it through my credit card.
