My wife and I were so excited about our recent trip to New Orleans. We arrived during a horrible rainstorm and instead of focusing on checking us into our room, the front desk associate was paying more attention to video recording a bus navigating an incorrect one-way turn outside of the hotel. This made for a very delayed check-in. My wife takes a seizure medicine and has a service dog trained to alert people of an emergency. During the check-in we were grilled and I thought we might have to get out all of the paperwork about our pup! We were also informed that we couldn't leave our small Shih-Tzu in our room alone - this was a MAJOR inconvenience. We have never had this type of poor experience with any other hotel when traveling with my wife's service animal. The room is all tile (which sucked with wet shoes and bodies). We found a hair on top of the sink and felt more of a "meh" feeling than advertised. I ran out to pick up cleaning products to make sure we were comfortable for the stay. I was so upset after check-in that I started searching for an alternate hotel! Our friends came into the lobby to wait with me one night and also felt the intrusive and aloof presence from an employee. With improved external and room presentation and less nosy staff, this would be a great place to stay during your trip to New Orleans.
