The staff at the Alice is spot on! Never had better customer service. They could do consulting for other companies.. that friendly. The hotel is dated but a historic adventure. Nice place to stay.

Nice staff, VERY disappointing stay
My husband and I were spending a weekend away for our anniversary and chose this hotel based off of the rating and the photos. Arriving to the hotel, you get the appearance of sophistication. The photos online are very nice and the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The layout of our room was great and the linens were clean. However the linens were the only thing that housekeeping worried about. The flooring in the room was an ash colored hardwood laminate and while pretty to look at, it was also very deceiving in its cleanliness. Our only assumption to its filth was, housekeeping looked at the floor and said “it doesn’t look dirty” and therefore did nothing to it. This in turn left us to discover it was covered in sand among other things throughout the room. If there was a hard flat surface in the room, it was sticky from spilled drinks from whoever stayed previously. Even the drawers in the dresser had trash, dust, and hair in every one. The pleather pull-out couch was also sticky with soda can rings and a woman’s red nail polish that had been peeled off. The outlet by the sink AND the light above the sink did not work. Nor did the floor lamp next to the pull-out couch. The mattress on the king-sized bed was clearly 30+ years old and I believe we would have slept better, if we had slept on concrete. We checked out early. The front desk staff was again very kind, but unfortunately they were the only good things about this hotel and not worth the money spent.
