Peaceful Christmas on the lake!

We enjoyed spending the week of Christmas at Heavenly Harbor and we didn’t regret our choice! Everything was as listed but even better in person. The owners were so helpful & responsive before and during our stay and we also appreciated the house being decorated for Christmas and the many personal touches left for us when we arrived. We fished the lake and caught a few spotted bass and enjoyed the cozy fireplace inside to warm up. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your beautiful lake house!

Perfect Retreat

We love Lake Hickory and love staying at properties owned by Travis & Lesa Roffler. The properties are always well equipped, super clean, and have comfortable beds. They are also super responsive to questions and concerns.

Perfect home for our family

We had the most amazing time at the Lake House. It was clean, a perfect size for our teens to have their own space, the hosts where fast to communicate with me if I asked any questions and the outside decks and lake where beautiful! It was the best vacation we have had in a long time and would definitely come back.

Short stay but great time !

First time renting lake house. Wanted some quality family time together with nice setting and something to do together. Got all we wanted with this house, it's owners and available options to enjoy life's pleasures. Spent day on lake with pontoon rental (highly recommended from Lakeside Marina). Hiked at Rocky Face Mountain park and visited Shadow Line Vineyards.

Labor Day Staycation

This VRBO experience was hands down the best one ever! The house itself is beautiful! You can tell there has been so much thought and love put into this home! The owners are so helpful and accommodating. I love how they allow you to have additional guest during the day. This was truly one of my family’s favorite trips we’ve ever taken. Our kids (12 and 17) didn’t want to leave! With the property only 30 minutes from our home, I know we’ll be booking again! Thank you again for sharing your beautiful lake home with us ❤️

Definitely Coming Back

This was a great house with great owners. They communicated with us about the property and gave recommendations for the area. The property was clean and spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy time on the lake. Located in a quiet cove, we fished and floated to our heart's content. We rented a boat from a Lakeside Marina twice and enjoyed time out on the lake. We ventured into town for dinner and had dinner lakeside one night. We have already planned our return trip and can't wait to visit Lake Hickory again.

We Are Now A Lake Family

Heavenly Harbor is, to put it mildly, Totally Awesome. Our family has vacationed at the ocean for the last 20 years, but now that we are dispersed across VA, NC and TN, we decided to try something more central to us all. Somehow we fell upon Travis and Lesa's beautiful lake house. After the week, we are now a Lake Family! The house had everything we needed. Obviously, we packed way too much and brought a lot of our "beach stuff". We didn't need any of it. The kitchen was big and allow all of us all to be in there making our lunches. The family room seated 6 (plus 2 dogs) and the huge lake view window just made it feel huge. The TV allowed us to login to all of our streaming apps which made our millennials happy. Each bedroom was perfectly appointed and even though we didn't really use it, the basement bunk room is perfect for kids. But the real gem is the deck/dock the leads to the most relaxing place I've been in many years. The huge oak that shades most of the deck area makes this place just too perfect. The floating dock allowed us easy access the deep water where we just sat in our floating chairs for hours enjoying family and making memories. Although we still love the beach, we are already planning to come back next year. It was just too perfect. Don't miss out on this gem... just don't take our week.

Beautiful Lake Hickory Vacation

This house is even more beautiful in person! Gorgeous lake views from every window. The hosts are amazing! My family had such a wonderful time - best part was doing cannonballs into Lake Hickory right from the dock!

Lake House

Great location with nice views. Nice house, just wish the listing would have mentioned the all of the stairs. A member of our family has a mobility problem so the need to go down a flight of stairs to get into the house was a surprise. Based on the pictures it looked like the driveway went to the front door. We saw it was a common situation in the area, I don't think it was being hidden, but I think that listing in general should state if there are accessible issues.

Annual family/friends vacation

We had a great time at Heavenly Harbor! Nearly everything we needed was provided. The house was very clean and well kept. The dock area was our favorite part. Plenty of room to dock a boat and lounge in the water all afternoon! We enjoyed evenings relaxing on the deck or playing games inside. Lake Hickory is absolutely beautiful and a hidden gem. We can’t wait to come back next year!!

Beautiful Place

What can I say? This place was incredible. The multiple levels of outdoor space, the fantastic lake, the cleanliness of the house… all superb. We had 2 families with 5 kids total and there was always something different to do. The lot is steep, but the stairs are forgiving because of the staging of the landings. The kitchen is great and well stocked. The bedrooms are all nice and updated along with the rest of the place. Really couldn’t ask for more. We benefited from great weather too. I would totally go back.

Great stay

We have stayed at many properties on the beach and other lakes, but these owners by far were the best we have ever experienced. All we needed was food and vanilla. If there is any con about the property, the bunk room beds are definitely for young children . Otherwise perfect stay

Quite Comfy Lake House

We are six retired firemen that get together at least twice a year. We all worked together back in the day and still enjoy seeing each other catching up with our lives. One in our group was not able to make this trip. I have lived here in the area for 18 years and thought my fellow retirees would enjoy the area and time on the lake. This lake house turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s location on a quite cove was ideal for swimming, kayaking, and boating. The fire pit was a relaxing feature in the evening sharing old fire stories of past. The Lake House was clean and stood tall on our arrival. We immediately felt at home. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen very functional. All the comforts of home. The host’s made themselves available although we never had to reach out to them. We highly recommend staying here for all seasons. Hats off to Travis and Lesa. A Lake House well done!

Great house, great view

Want to start off by saying that the house and view are fantastic. The house itself is well equipped for many occupants and we were honestly very surprised with how well stocked the house and kitchen were to handle just about everything we could throw at it. My family stayed here for 6 days and there was nothing we could think of that we were missing or needed that the house was not equipped with. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and responsive. They reached out to greet us and inform us of all the attractions of the area and features of the house prior to our stay and had someone out the same day to look at an issue with one of the bathrooms. We had minimal issues, but I’ll list them here as comments more so than anything negative. With the house there is a significant number of steps which made it difficult for the older members of our family to really navigate the property (my fault for not being cognizant of this when booking). They had to hold on to the wall inside to get down to the living room from the dining room and the pillar on the outside deck to get down to the bench seating area; a railing or two could help in those situations. Not really a negative as nobody else in our party had issue, but something to keep in mind if you have older members of your party. The person that came out to address our bathroom issue, also has a property directly next door that he is renovating and for 3 of our 6 days he was next door with his crew performing said renovations quite early in the morning and throughout the course of the day, which does make it a bit hard to relax and unwind with the associated construction noises. On one of the construction days a few members of the construction team got into a colorful verbal dispute, and we had little kids with us that were ushered into the house. The last comment is just around some of the religious and political décor; no issues with who you vote for or what you believe in, but when people go on vacation they like to break away from the daily stresses of life and having a neutral environment, welcomes everyone, regardless of your views or beliefs. Outside of the comments above, the house, the lake, the entertainment of the area, and the owners were all incredible. If you’re looking for a great house on a lake to get away for a while, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Lovely Lakefront!

The lake house was very clean and stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. So many amazing outdoor decks and sitting areas to enjoy the view - even a nice little fire pit. The kayaks were a nice bonus as well. We hope to be back again!

This house was amazing

The pictures does this house absolutely no justice at all!! The house was super clean you can smell a fresh scent as soon as you walk in and then boom you catch the views of this amazing lake from the big over sized windows! This house felt like home, the owner’s are amazing as well they made checking in/out a breeze and they spared no details with this house, the renovation it self you can look in their photo album that’s next to the fireplace and see how far the property came & that makes the home even more amazing so you can appreciate it more! And myself & my husband found all 23 bicycles that were around the house!! It was a bit cold to get in the water to enjoy the lake but that doesn’t matter once we checked out we enjoyed it so much we are deciding to book this property again really soon! Heavenly Harbor is just that I have fell in love with the lake after being a beach girl for the longest! You will not be disappointed with this property at all it literally has it all!!
