My family and I booked 3 rooms for just one night as we just spent the day at Hersey park. The front desk staff was friendly and no complaints there. The issue I had was with the room. I had a hole in the wall in the bathroom, chilling and peeling back on the ceiling in the bathroom, stains on the curtain. The room clearly needs some alot of maintenance. For a one night stay it was suitable. But I will would not be returning.

My family and I arrived about an hour before check in. When I approached the desk to ask if it was possible to check in early, the young man was very polite and accommodating. He was able to get us in a room and gave us all the details about the hotel. He was very friendly! We got to our room and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the comfort of the bed, linens and pillows! The only thing we started to realize was the temperature in the room was getting warmer and warmer. Also, there were only 2 sets of towels (usually in a 2 Queen I've gotten 4 towels). We called downstairs about the AC and the towels. Someone came to our room within minutes to try to fix it since maintenance was not on the property yet. We were leaving for Hershey park that evening and the young woman asked if it was ok for maintenance to come in our room and if he couldn't fix it, they would move us to a room close that had working AC. When we returned, very late that night, the woman informed us that the AC was good and it was much more comfortable in the room. Slept great that night. The next morning we had the option of paying for a buffet style breakfast or order from menu. We did buffet. I didn't think it was worth it at all. No waffle maker :( Food was meh and the server/hostess was ok. In all, every staff member we saw was very polite and asked how our stay was or said, "have a great day"! They acknowledged us every chance they could. Oh ya, the pool was nice for our kids!

Travelocity guests treated as second rate.

Pros: Proximity to Hershey and Gettysburg. Those were our destinations.
Cons: Treat travelocity guests as any other since, well, THEY ARE. Eliminate hallway draperies now. Liven up the pea soup green walls with a bright color.
Location: Very close to Hershey area and Gettysburg. A good location for both.
We arrived at the lobby in the evening and were treated as second rate guests at check-in since we booked through travelocity instead of through Holiday Inn directly. We didn't know we would not accrue points for this reason. Back to check-in: the draperies in the hallways looked very old and as they might fall apart if touched and the pea soup green wall color was not pleasing at all. The room was not in a hallway with those draperies so they were easily forgotten. However, we walked into our pitch black room and it was a very very cold 63 degrees Fahrenheit! We had to turn on the heat which must not have been used for months as the smell of the dusty heater caused us to have to open up our room door to the hallway to try to air it out which took awhile. That was a most upsetting experience after a long day. The room was quite cramped for a Holiday Inn, although we always stay at HolidayInn Expresses. There were a few spider webs and a spider in the bathroom. The room did not appear to be used or cleaned in awhile. If it had been clean and at a reasonable temperature for guests, I could give a rather pleasing review of the facilities. The next morning when we asked for a receipt we were again told that since we booked through travelocity they would not print out a receipt for us. I needed "an itemized receipt" to use a voucher we had received from Holiday Inn. They still would not print one for us. I don't see why they couldn't print a receipt, we were customers nonetheless.
