"The property has the appeal of a century-old house that has not been well maintained and features inexpensive upgrades. This is unfortunate, as it has the potential to be a truly magnificent hotel. Hotel Northampton
"The property has the appeal of a century-old house that has not been well maintained and features inexpensive upgrades. This is unfortunate, as it has the potential to be a truly magnificent hotel. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the king-size bed felt far too large for the room, which seemed designed for a standard-size bed. It looked nothing like the pictures. The bathroom was extremely lilliputian—the toilet seat came up to mid-shin on my 5'3" frame, and the sink was installed at about crotch height. The bath enclosure also appeared to be a cheap, off-the-shelf model. On the positive side, the towels were clean. We had dinner at Coolidge Park Café and highly recommend the braised short ribs—they were melt-in-your-mouth delicious and served with garlic-smashed potatoes. However, our waitress suggested exploring other restaurants in the area if we were staying for more than a short time, as there was only one other occupied table. Breakfast was not made to order. Our eggs, which were requested over medium, were well done. However, the whole-wheat avocado toast was fresh and delicious. EV chargers are available at the far end of the huge parking lot. Overall, it was adequate for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay there again. The property is worth walking through, if only to appreciate its history. Perhaps it would be better suited as a museum."
