"My two-week stay in Christmas Valley was really wonderful. First of all, the hosts Debbie and Hatch could not have been any nicer, helpful, and accommodating, with communication quick and clear. They changed the timer on the indoor pool heater for me so the water would be at its best earlier in the morning, which I really appreciated. And the outdoor hot tub is large and comfy. Those features were most welcome as I have been recovering from a broken back and injured neck from a fall this past February. There was fire wood stacked and ready to use which we hadn't anticipated needing, however we had an unexpected rain, hail, and light snow for a couple of days so it really made hunkering down fun and cozy. Warm wood heat, movies, and popcorn. Nice!The location is excellent for day trips from which my travel mate and I explored the entire circumference of the lake and even made an excursion to Genoa and Carson City. Or, just walk out the front door and head up the street and you will quickly be in a beautiful forest with miles of trails, a small river (or very large creek) and even a bear sighting!I've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals over the years and I can tell you this place had the most elaborately stocked kitchen I've ever experienced in terms of cookware, gadgets, and literally anything you might want or need to cook whatever suits your fancy. Add to that super comfy beds and a great floorpan and you have found a real winner for a vacation getaway!"
