I booked this hotel for my honeymoon based on the amenities and photos shown in the Hotels.com listing. The listing includes images of extras such as champagne and rose petals. After booking, management informed me that these amenities are not offered at all—even for an additional fee.
Two hours before check-in, I was notified that my room was unavailable due to unexpected maintenance. I was then informed that there were no rooms available at the property at all. A room at a sister property was offered but was not comparable to what I booked.
The refund that I requested required emailed approval from an offsite manager and took several hours to complete. There is no onsite reception desk, which made resolution more difficult than necessary. I was told to wait outside in my car in the snow. After the refund was approved, I was asked to cancel the reservation on my end, despite the cancellation being entirely due to the hotel’s inability to honor the booking.
There appears to be a disconnect between the listing details and the actual guest experience. Future guests may want to carefully review the listing photos and amenities before booking.
