"I have stayed at several budget-friendly independent motels over the years on business travel, and unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences I've had. The bathroom sink contained hair and dried droplets of a red substance, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. While I cannot say with certainty, the condition of the bed also gave the impression that the bedding may not have been changed between guests and had simply been remade. Another significant concern was the balcony. There was no divider between adjoining rooms, allowing neighboring guests direct access to each other's sliding doors and balcony areas, lacked security. In addition, there was a strong, unpleasant smell throughout the hallway on our floor that persisted for the entirety of our stay. The property's location was the primary reason we chose it, and unfortunately it was the only positive aspect of the experience. We left extremely disappointed with both the condition of the property and the overall stay. For a small difference in price, I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel."

"Hotel rooms (suite) need complete renovation. Some areas of the room were new and other areas old. Breakfast area nice and many food choices. Read a review that rated this hotel 8.8 out of 10. I would rate it 6.5 out of 10. Also said it was 24 miles from South Haven but actually takes 38 minutes to get there. Not because of traffic, but route you need to take."

"If I could give this place a rating of 100 for cleanliness I would! Other guests commented the same. I didn't spot one cobweb or dirty corner anywhere, inside or out. That to me is priority. The pool was also sparkling clean and heated. Still a little chill but nothing unbearable. I was there the 1st week of June. The staff was amazing. Very helpful when needed. The bed was comfy. The little areas dotted along the property with campfires ready to light, were a nice touch. I spent my mornings on the swing by the pond with my coffee, listening to the waterfall across the way. I loved this place! I do have to say, however, dont expect anything fancy. Its pretty "old school". Rooms are plain and aged some. Could use a few more tables within the rooms to put stuff on. No pictures on the walls, so didnt feel "cozy", but clean and functional. That would be my only gripe. Nicely located so day trips to other towns like Saugatuck, Holland and Grand Haven were within a 15 -50 minutes drive. Grand Haven State Park is definitely worth going to. Beaches were beautiful. I will def be returning next year for another relaxing long weekend. Maybe stay a few days longer! 😉"

"Convenient location to shopping and eats, about 1 mile walk into downtown. Room was wonderful, recently upgraded. Awesome front desk staff. These ladies were friendly, proficient and professional. Nice breakfast offering, but no meats. Pool and hot tub need cleaning, including chlorine. Shady guests after hours, somewhat noisy and inconsiderate after 11p? Overall worthwhile stay. No plumbing or AC issues. Very comfortable room,bed! Appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Walmart was a 5 min walk behind the hotel. 2 great restaurants and 2 fast food chain eateries within walking distance. Recommended stay for travelers!"
