When we checked in to the hotel, our room had not been cleaned from the previous guests. The bed was unmade, there was towels on the floor and hair everywhere. When we went to the front desk, the guy apologized, but there were no accommodations offered and no other rooms available for our stay. We had to then find a different hotel to stay at. The location is nice, but it was not well kept, which I read on the reviews.

The location was perfect. Never used the car the entire weekend because everything was walkable - the beach, shopping, restaurants. St Joseph is one of the best Michigan beach towns and we will be going back often.

Hotel rooms were dirty and poorly cleaned, sliding glass door was broken in our room. I had told the front desk and didn’t seem to care. I waited for 20 minutes before calling the front desk again who advised that there was no maintenance on the weekends. We were also followed by what we were assuming a hotel worker that had an elevator key to our room. We had gotten off the elevator on the 3rd floor in which he had followed to see which room we were staying in. He walked further down the hall and turned around to look at us again before walking to the stairs and proceeding back downstairs. The bed in our 2nd room was also broken. Many of my families rooms didn’t have working refrigerators or appliances. Overall poor experience, HOWEVER, location was great proximity to downtown and the beach

I liked how close it was to the beach and shopping. Was excited to use the pool in the evening with the kids because the wesite stated there was a pool and there was even a picture, then found out the pool was no longer there since their renovations. Not sure what was actually renovated. Could have been cleaner.

When we were checked in to our room we went in and the room had not been cleaned at all, there were water bottles and towels all over. We also wanted to go swimming but the pool has been closed since e 2024. The breakfast area was very small and not hardly any options for breakfast. The only thing we liked about this hotel was the closeness to everything.

We've been staying here on and off for years. This time we were very happy to see the upgraded redecorated rooms! So nice! And really clean and fresh. The beds were SO comfy! The hallways were very warm but looked like they've had an upgrade as well. Free parking: yay! Walking right to coffee, dinner, shopping, ice cream, and the beach, which are all the reasons (besides the great price) that we chose this hotel. Check-in was a little complicated because Expedia had my name wrong. We could not get extra towels mid-week when ours were soggy (they said they didn't have any more) so we just hung ours outside. The balcony was a great little place to step outside from the 5th floor, but a lot of the time it smelled like pee. Pool still out of commission (but it's summer and we were there for the beach!). Coffeemaker needed cleaning so we didn't use it (but there was coffee in the morning breakfast area, so we were fine). Questionable security because the building and access to all floors seemed to be open at all times. But we didn't notice that until the final day. So very quiet! We never heard any of our neighbors! And there were a lot of vacationers with a LOT of kids and it was totally quiet. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and would come back (probably WILL be back next summer!).

The hotel is completely neglected. The awful smell when you walk in says it all about how dirty the place is. Our room was dirty (the carpet was disgusting), and the bathroom wasn’t any better. The air conditioning didn’t work. Fortunately, the sheets and towels were clean. The only positive points: the staff was so incredibly sweet that we didn’t even dare to complain, and the location was perfect—right between downtown St. Joseph and the beach.

Be warned, the breakfast offered is not your typically hotel breakfast buffet. There are very limited items and not much to choose from. Our room was fine but had no microwave, others did. Other then that the stay was fine, great location.

Lackluster stay

First off all, the room itself was fine other than the shower door not having a good seal and leaking all over the floor. The bed was more on the firm side. We paid extra for a king lakeview room and the view was definitely lack luster. The breakfast was the worst continental breakfast we've ever experienced in our years of travel. No protein options. No hot food. Unless cereal and muffins are your thing, expect to go out for breakfast. We tried Brookies! Easy walk from the hotel & good food. Another major dispointment is the pool and hot tub not being operational. In my opinion, definitely not worth the money except for the convenient location to the beach & downtown St. Joe.
