Do not stay here.This is the worst rental we have ever stayed in. While I understand that it is an older home, describing it as having "character" is misleading-"dilapidated" would be more accurate. There were several maintenance and cleanliness concerns, including a cracked toilet tank and tub, peeling ceiling paint with dead bugs stuck on it, stained bathroom tiles, signs of water-damaged wood, stained worn towels, and exposed plumbing in a makeshift closet with deteriorating plaster. We also noted that a smoke detector did not appear to be functioning during our stay, which was concerning.Access to the building was also challenging, involving a set of winding wooden stairs that may be difficult for some guests to navigate, especially with luggage.The layout was also problematic. One bedroom has the bed positioned against the wall on one side, requiring one person to climb over it. There is also a very steep stairway leading to a basement room, which may not be suitable for all guests. The pillows were thin and offered little support, one wall had a hole, and furniture showed noticeable wear and staining.Parking was another point of disappointment as we later learned that city-issued permits cost 1.00 per day, yet the host charges guests 20.00 per day.We chose not to contact the host during our stay, as the concerns we encountered appeared to be structural or maintenance-related rather than quick fixes. Future guests may want to confirm current conditions before booking
