Sisters getaway weekend

Pros: Location, view and the fact that there were 2 queen beds in the room. Since there were 3 of us it's nice to have a queen bed when you need to share.
Cons: Music in lobby & bars was quite loud so hard to hear over it. Could have used another chair in the room. 3 women & 1 chair.
Location: Near theaters and water taxi. Took the water taxi to Chinatown & at twilight. Very convenient to theater district.
Overall experience was very good. The concierge was very helpful when we had an urge for chocolate cake at 9 o'clock and found a nearby bakery that was still open and had delicious chocolate cake. The room had a great view and was very comfortable.

Christmas Weekend

Pros: Pretty much everything. It's well maintained, great staff along with the location.
Cons: Reduce the parking fees...but that won't happen.
Location: Goodman Theater, Michigan Avenue, Restaurants
We have stayed at the Renaissance a number of times. We love the location and the close proximity to the Goodman Theatre, Macy's (Field's) and great dining. Not too far from strolling Michigan Ave. The weather was very accommodating this past weekend for December in Chicago.

I've stayed at better for less

Cons: No free Internet
Plus- 1. Its location was a plus. The Renaissance Hotel is centrally located near a lot of Chicago hot spots. 2. It was clean. From the lobby, to the elevators, to the room the hotel was very clean. 3. The staff was friendly. Everyone from the vallet to the front desk attendant was polite and willing to help. Minus- 1. The shower was cold and never heated up. We stayed for only one night and when we showering in the morning we had no hot water. We could also hear neighboring guests complaining of the same thing through the thin bathroom walls. 2. The bed was unbearable. My wife and I barely slept because the bed was so uncomfortable and I had back pain the whole next day.

Very family friendly and in a great central location in downtown Chicago!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, near theaters great restaurants and shopping.
We received a great price that included our kids meals at the hotel's restaurants. For a great location in the city of Chicago, there wasnt a better price for the quality of the hotel we stayed at. It was very comfortable and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. It wasnt a five star hotel but yet the room was quiet and comfortable.

love this hotel!

Pros: Quiet
I have stayed here several times and it is always a pleasure. The employees are great, the food at the bar is delicious and the Hot Chocolate available in the lobby is to die for! Always a wonderful experience.

horrible service

they are snobby and horrible service. they treat their valued guest like crap, so how do you think they will treat regular people. they are over priced and they don't do a good cleaning. I would give them a rating of worst then terrible.

Good Location and Helpful

We drove into town for sporting events and we were able to walk just about everywhere we needed to go. Across the river for bars, down to Soldier Field for the match and so on. It was a great weekend trip. Had to get a taxi to US Cellular and found out there is not much around the stadium. The front desk was helpful when a wallet was left in the car we valet parked as well as answering questions about what was nearby. Teh view from the room was great and the room intself was clean and larger than expected! The hotel met the definition of a Renaissance Hotel and we will definitely stay again.
