Adequate accommodations.

Pros: Convenience and price for the type of trip I was on made this hotel a wise choice.
Cons: A convenience shelf and cooler in the lobby with better than vending machine snacks and refreshments that can be purchased from the desk clerks.
Location: This was not the ski season, but this hotel is located close to both Sugar Mountain and Beech mountain resorts. Central to other area attractions.
This is not the Ritz. With that said, this hotel (more like motel) provides adequate accommodations for anyone needing a reasonably priced place to stay in the banner elk area. Not a lot of hotel choices beyond Boone. Most places in Banner Elk area are b&b, inns, and resort condo/homes. The hotel is of an outdated structural design but the rooms, at least mine, have been somewhat modernized. Bottom line is that this is a no frill place that gets the job done if you are not looking for posh or luxury.

Pros: The staff was great. Any issues got an immediate helpful response. Breakfast was of good quality for Hotel's price range.
Cons: HD TV but signal to TV was not, so image clarity wasn't great. Bathroom appearance was so,so but clean. Bed was a little "unflat".
Rooms werer on the older side but still nice and comfortable. Staff very courteous, prompt and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Family Friendly and Pet Friendly Hotel

Pros: Location, lobby, staff, beds were all great.
Cons: Since there is no way to add soundproofing to the walls, the heater/air conditioner change is the only update that could improve the hotel.
Location: Good restaurants downtown. Easy access to Boone, Linville, Blowing Rock, etc. Close to ski slopes.
The Best Western is the only hotel in Banner Elk. The lobby is beautiful with nice leather couches around a huge stone fireplace. They have a popcorn maker with fresh popcorn all day. The breakfast is sufficient and the staff is very attentive. The rooms have coffee, refrigerator, and a microwave. Many people had dogs and there is a place in back to walk the dog which has poop bags. This is a older hotel which has been updated. The beds were comfortable, but since the building is original, the walls are VERY thin. We had a room with kids next door which woke us up at 6 am both mornings. Screaming, talking loudly, crying, etc. Also, the heater/air is an old floor unit under the window which is loud when it is on. The temperature control is an actual thermostat on the wall though so you can control the temperature. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would still recommend the hotel. The hotel was booked since it was the Woolley Worm festival. The location was close enough to be able to get to the festival without sitting in miles of backup, but far enough away to be out of the traffic when not at the festival.

Great pool. Uncomfortable beds.

Horrible beds. Very uncomfortable. We tossed and turned all night. Our backs hurt us all night. Breakfast was mediocre. The lady working in the restaurant very very nice. Pool was great. My son loved it.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view!

Our room was great, staff was friendly and the abundant breakfast was excellent. Didnt have a chance to use the pool but it it looked like a great area for family fun or adult lounging. Really enjoyed the scenic drive to the hotel and the morning views were amazing.

Wonderful comfy lodge

Pros: Heated pool, comfy beds, good breakfast, and beautiful grounds
Location: Hiking on grandfather Mountain, cool village nearby, Good restaurants, near the Blue Ridge Parkway,
Beautiful heated pool which was so relaxing, lots of free coffee and even popcorn in the lobby, and wonderful comfy beds. We really enjoyed swimming in the mountain area and the beautiful trees in the courtyard. The breakfast was really good also! I would highly recommend this Inn! It was a quick drive to grandfather Mountain in the morning. My granddaughter and I had a wonderful stay !

The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Free Internet
Cons: tv didn't work properly, no complimentary breakfast
The hotel was perfect for my travel to the area. It is less than 5 minutes away from Sugar Mountain, and the price couldn't be beat elsewhere. The bed was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
