Great cabin. We stayed for 3 nights to tour around Banff NP and everything was perfect and the view from our cabin was spectacular! Highly recommend, it’s just a short drive from the town of Banff and it’s a beautiful ride to and from.
Great place to stay if you like to hike and specially to avoid crowds starting very early. Food and service is awesome, only for breakfast they were under staff so it took longer than expected.
Amazing setting in the forest. Walk out the door after having coffee ☕️ on the little porch, in your comfy Adirondack chair, and head up to the ink pots for a picnic lunch! Coffee at the cafe was wonderful!
Perfect location between Banff and Lake Louise. Close to wildlife along 1A. Lauren, Charlie and Karolina were so pleasant and fun. They were definitely a highlight of our stay making sure our room was perfect, we had bear spray and bug spray, and giving us inside tips about the park. We will be coming back!!
We loved our stay at Johnston Canyon! You cannot beat the location. It was so nice being right at the trailhead, and not having to worry about parking. It was nice having the restaurant and gift shop right there. We didn't utilize the DVD's or board games, but it was nice to know it was an option.
We absolutely loved our stay at Johnston Canyon. The staff was very friendly and the cottage was immaculate. The food at bistro was delicious and being right next to Johnton Canyon trail was perfect. We would definitely recommend staying at this resort. You will not be disappointed.
Our cabin was spacious but the bathroom layout was odd - long and narrow. Probably a conversion of an old cabin. The restaurant was dated, but good food and delightful staff. Too bad cabins are so expensive!
Our Johnston Canyon bungalow exceeded every expectation! Triple filtered water to drink, well-appointed room, on site gourmet restaurant and general store with the best-tasting soft serve ice cream, located ON Johnston Canyon. We could’ve spent the entire week in that one locale, but we also took the Hop On Hop Off tour and other day trips, with Johnston Canyon being a perfect central location to return to each evening. The staff were super friendly and the bed was big and comfy! There was even a clawfoot tub, toiletries, and a blow dryer. It was a perfect place to enjoy the magnificent Banff National Park.
We loved staying in these cozy cabins!! They were clean and comfortable and so easy to hike before and after all the daily tourists. We enjoyed take out from the restaurant and borrowed free DVDs for family movie night. Also rented bear spray. Would highly recommend!
The stay was amazing! We had a few little hiccups but they were fixed immediately. Everyone was so nice! My only complaint was that the wifi in the cabins was just bad. Not that our vacation was centered around tv, but we wanted to watch the Stanley Cup Finals one night and our ROKU wouldn't hook up at all.
We loved this 'cabin in the woods'! This is a fantastic unique place - the rustic cabins are all within very close proximity to one another, so you don't need to worry about being too remote. It is very safe and family friendly. We also appreciated being able to roll out our door and onto the Johnson Canyon trail at 8am to beat all the tourist crowds. This is a huge perk. There is a fabulous restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A pickleball court is on the grounds and they were in the process of building a sauna when we were there. The log cabins are very rustic, but extremely charming....like stepping back in time. Highly recommend having at least one night here.
The little bungalow was very clean and appropriately updated. We had the best view from our porch and living room! Check in gallery was super helpful. Hike to the falls was amazing!!
The mosquitoes were terrible and they had no bug repellent or ice in the store at all. And no ice cube trays in the freezer. A bug zapper would have been nice on the porch or even inside since they were so bad.
