Close to hospitals.

Pros: Staff was very nice!
Cons: Patrol parking lots later at night. No loitering. Man was yelling at girlfriend on phone.
I picked this hotel due to its proximity to Bakersfield Memorial. About 2.4 miles away. It was clean and basic. For note the rooms are on outside corridors, so by definition, a motel, not a hotel. Odd, uncomfortable man hanging around when I drove in at 10 pm to check in. The staff are the real asset. All very kind, helpful and friendly. Breakfast of fresh made waffles was wonderful. Thank you!

Had no problems other than slow elevator.

Pros: Free breakfast
Easy to find and friendly staff. Breakfast was hectic because tour bus was leaving early when most of us "seniors" leave. Everyone was courteous and it all worked out great.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Our room was very nice and the manager recommended a Mexican restaurant nearby. It was excellent also. We will stay with you again!

Misleading

There are good la Quintas Inns and there are bad ones. This is a bad one. It is just a nasty motel dressed up with the La Quinta name. It is small, dirty, loud, and very seedy. You could do much better down the road.

The room was not great

I did not feel safe in the hotel. The rooms opened to the outdoors and the security was poor. The room was not clean.

Good solid motel - well maintained - friendly service

Not the easiest place to find because the street the motel is on, cuts into the main boulevard just 20 feet from a major intersection and my GPS wasn't able to clearly explain that fact -- only that I had to "make a U-turn" when I missed it. Checking in was such a pleasant experience that I quickly forgot my consternation. The check in lady was very helpful and explained everything I needed to know about the motel features, how to get to my room (better than my GPS) and other details. I booked the room through web and felt the rate was very low ($56) for the area and the quality of the motel. Another location "complaint" which applies to all the hotels in the area (and there are many), is the outside noise level. The hotel is at the intersection of two major boulevards and just below the freeway. It's also on the fire department's main route to fires and not far from the rail road line. The noise level inside my room was tolerable but I did need earplugs to fall asleep. The hotel is either fairly new or very well maintained. Public areas were in good shape, my room was clean, neat and well appointed. There was a nice sized table I could use for a desk and an 110VAC outlet to run my laptop. Connection to the hotel WiFi was easily secured and it was free. There were plenty of towels, soap and shampoo for two persons. The bed was comfortable. My room was on the third (top) floor, which could have been hot but wasn't. The A/C was on a digital thermostat and seemed to hold the room temperature at 72* F. The La Quinta complimentary breakfast was excellent.

A Great Place to Stay

I found La Quinta Inn to be clean, comfortable, and friendly. Price was reasonable; continental breakfast was wonderful. I'd stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends. Easy access to freeways, too.
