Good location but disappointing room

I requested a room with one king size bed but was put in a room with to queen size beds. The carpet was stained in many places and thus appears dirty. The desk chair was very worn i.e. it needed to be re-upholstered or replaced. There was freeway traffic noise all night.

Very friendly staff and lovely room

Pros: The room was very nice. The bed(s) were comfortable and the room was quiet.
Cons: The in hotel dining restaurant was pretty marginal and could be improved. Prices were steep and portions were small.
Location: It was convient to the 99 freeway and there were plenty of good rest
My daughter and I stayed here for one night on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I don't often find myself in need of a hotel in Bakersfield, but if I do, I will definately stay here again. Loved everything about it except for the in hotel restaurant which was marginal on the food. Too expensive for what was served and very slow service.

Bakersfield stay

Pros: Free Internet, if you have att
First off, it's Bakersfield. I was there for soccer playoffs so they raise the price and you're lucky if you can even find a room during that time. With that said, the rooms are a bit lanky and the hotel itself feels outdated, but if you're like me and not spending too much time except for sleeping, then you'll get by fine. I do have to say the breakfast was pretty good considering. The best part of the hotel is its location, which is central to the freeway and Costco! If you have ATT, you get free internet, not too shabby for a little place such as this.

Very dirty and unkept. Can't believe it's part of Hilton

Cons: very dirty
I stayed at this hotel 6 or 7 years ago and loved it. The hotel I checked into yesterday was not the same well managed Hilton Doubletree. I travel for a living and I can say this hotel rates one of the worst. From the filthy carpet, cigarette smell that they tried to cover with air freshner, trash (including beer bottle cap and matches), to the cobwebs and stained wallpaper... The place needs a major overhaul. I would say this hotel rates more like a low level motel than the mid range hotel. My advice... Move on and stay somewhere else.

Very comfortable and centrally located

Pros: Close restaurants
Incredibly yummy cookies at check-in! Very accessible off of the freeway. Very comfortable. Nice pool. I would stay here again. Some of the fixtures are just a little old and lighting was not great. A little freeway noise.
