I wish I had caught the gentleman’s name that was working overnight on 12/30, he was so incredibly helpful and friendly. I had come to the area to visit friends and am unfamiliar with Bakersfield. I booked another hotel that I was unable to stay at once I checked in, it was not clean and I felt very unsafe (the photos on the site, rating, and reviews were good too). I called the number for the Country Inn & Suites and asked if they had a room for that night and if I would be able to check in right then, it was after midnight, he said yes. I arrived in less than 10 minutes, he made the process super simple and efficient. I checked the room to make sure, since the previous experience was not great, and the room was clean and perfect for my needs. My son and I stayed 3 nights, slept well, and had a safe stay. I would stay here again on another trip to Bakersfield.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. It began with an extremely slow check-in process, which was frustrating after a long trip. I was then required to provide my car number and place a paper on the dashboard, forcing me to walk back to the open-air parking lot in the rain just to comply. The hallways smelled strongly of what seemed like bedbug chemicals, which was both unpleasant and concerning. While the room appeared acceptable at first glance, it was clearly old and worn. The ceiling had visible yellow water stains, making the space feel neglected and poorly maintained. Overall, the quality did not come close to justifying the price. You could easily find the same or better experience elsewhere for half the cost. I regret choosing this hotel and overpaying for the Radisson brand, which in this case was misleading and disappointing. Breakfast was another major disappointment. The food was comparable to the cheapest options available, unhealthy, low-quality, and lacking freshness or variety. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

The front desk receptionist wanted to charge me a $50 dollar fee for my dog. I explained he is an ESA animal and normally I am not charged a fee since he is considered medical equipment not a pet. He says ok and no fee will be applied. 10 minutes later he calls my room and tells me he has talked to management and all animals are charged a fee regardless if they are esa, which is illegal in California.

The room was nice and spacious but the walls had been poorly covered up(off-color paint). The pool and hot tub looked clean but we didn’t get in just cause of how cold it was. The breakfast was very minimal, they only have one EV charger that’s first come first serve. I was relying on that unfortunately lol. Probably wouldn’t stay again.
