"I was disappointed to discover that this hotel also operates as a dormitory for the University of Tampa, which was not disclosed at the time of booking. As a result, the overall experience was far from what I expected from a hotel stay. Amenities such as the pool were essentially unusable due to overcrowding, and the lack of peace and quiet was a major issue. The hallways were consistently loud, with significant noise from late-night activity—often from 11:00 PM through 5:30 AM—making it difficult to rest. My stay, from Thursday through Sunday morning, was unfortunately very unpleasant. I strongly believe the Barrymore should be more transparent about this arrangement so guests can make informed decisions. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here."

The gap between the door and the floor is too large, allowing light and noise from the hallway to come into the room all night. The cleaning was excellent, but we found the coffee maker very dirty from the previous guest."
